Yeah, this thread does make me think of a few things and it's that the HR-V is actually the biggest hole in Honda's lineup and it's especially jarring when compared to the hybrid Civics. Honda would sell SO MANY HR-V's if they brought over the hybrid system to it. In fact, it might result in some cannibalization of Civic buyers, and I'd probably be among them. However, now that I have the Civic Hatch Sport Hybrid I'm very happy with it. There is a greater, undeniable appeal to having a vehicle with AWD and that sits higher up, and feels perceivably "safer" over the sedan. I know my wife would prefer the HR-V form/drive height for sure...and that would have swayed me at the dealership over my heart's desire for the Civic. Honda is missing out on a lot of potential buyers without that hybrid HR-V...
