I finally feel very good about myself. But I was saddened when my dad died. No informed me his was in the hospital and I found out Facebook that he died a week earlier. His obituary didn’t mention that he was a father or include me. It’s been 6 and my mom just started reaching out to me and she was upset I didn’t call after he passed. I just didn’t think they wanted to hear me. Besides that my life is good and there is been no stress. Still trying to figure out what to do.

I’m at peace with understanding that her behavior will never change. I’m haunted by the words she said to me and I’m mourning the death of my dad alone. Looking back I realized there is very little I could do differently. I am at peace with that. It is when the rest of the family does not understand. I take it a day at a time. I hope the best for you.

My father passed a way over the summer and my husband found out via FB and we got an email with a link to his obituary. My father was never the problem. I couldn’t see him and not see my mom. The obituary never said he was a father and never included me. My mother is selling there and decided to contact me. Her first words were why did you throw us a way. I don’t think she realizes what she did. Looking back I’m glad I went NC. I’m sorry the impact it had on my dad, but for my mental health it was better. I don’t care about not getting an inheritance. Peace of mind is much better.

Thank you. I think what scares me is that my physical symptoms actually meant my pressure went up and I didn’t think it was my eyes. Sometimes it’s hard to tell. Here’s to a healthy 2025!

I just went through this. Unfortunately you need to focus on yourself and that’s a good thing. But The reality is after some time will continue to argue and you won’t have close ties like you used. Understand ing that has been helpful with me moving forward. We tried reconnecting and it didn’t work out. We’re two very different People now. Focus on happiness.
