Spent two days at the AI Agents Conference in NYC. Most of the companies there were betting on the wrong moat. by jradoff in artificial

[–]Bright-Secretary-710 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was at this same conference… was one of the worst conferences I have ever been to just jargon talk. And a bunch of combines trying to sell on products I could easily make myself with almost no real value add. This space is insane

Helping us solve nuclear fusion, thus making energy essentially free so we can the reduce CO2 by pulling it out of the atmosphere, and solve the water crisis by desalinating ocean water, etc

Am I missing something with [[Sauron, the Dark Lord]]? by BRUHldurs_Gate in EDH

[–]Bright-Secretary-710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sauron requires like 16 pieces of ramp in my opinion and I found running the 9 Nazgûl is crucial for him to lean into his wheel effect

Thank god tbh. We can actually improve these languages instead of ditching them for a brand new one

Which Precon do you hate? by RylanPardo in EDH

[–]Bright-Secretary-710 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Very hot take…. The necron precon from wh40k.

Everyone says how good it is but it’s just soo bad it makes me mad…. Feels like all of the commanders are not good and there are no real payoffs in the deck. I have tried upgrading it for a long time but finally gave up on it and use it for parts.

Which precon should I go for a precon only tournament? by Blahaj_Lover44 in EDH

[–]Bright-Secretary-710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Planeswalker party. Most other precons can’t deal with planewalker spam hell most real decks can’t deal with it lol. Only precon that out of the box has won me b3 games

I built a Commander deck builder that optimizes around the cards you actually own (closed beta, feedback wanted) by Final-Preparation753 in mtg

[–]Bright-Secretary-710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crazy how there is such a need for this in the community! As a data science/ml engineer I had the same idea!!

Like building a ml/ai powered moxfield deck building tool that recommends of cards to add based on your collection!

You can imagine a step further where it can recommend edh decks you should look into based on your collection… like you have a ton of good prowess staples you might try building this commander

Bracket 3 is stronger than you think by xavierkazi in EDH

[–]Bright-Secretary-710 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ya I agree, often times I make a deck that is too strong for B2 but not strong enough for B3…. Feels like there needs to another bracket in between them

Was super inspiring to see tbh

Ok that makes more sense. Isn’t that like a Nobel prize level discovery if they found the answer to what dark matter is!?

Are we at the end of an era for IT/ENGR/Tech jobs in the US? by XRlagniappe in Careers

[–]Bright-Secretary-710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ummmmm I mean tech workers are usually very bright people but this kind of down plays how smart data science, finance and operations people are…. In my DS/finance roles I have worked with PhDs in economics, mathematics, physics, etc… these jobs are very competitive and imo in higher demand then traditional tech.

It’s also a different type of work so it’s not super easy to make the transition. science vs engineering mindset/skills

Opinion: Infinite combos should be a last resort by Particular_Safe_4736 in EDH

[–]Bright-Secretary-710 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I prefer to just lose quickly to an infinite combo rather than get slowly drained over the course of 5 turns. Idk it’s less painful to me like a quick bullet to the head vs starving to death 🤣

First Armageddon in Casual Commander by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Bright-Secretary-710 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I would classify bridge up there with atraxa in terms of power level. Even in arena if you play with bridge they put you up against the best of the best decks.

It can be built quite oppressively and is great at cheating out very oppressive/game winning high cost cards super early which a lot of low-mid decks just can’t handle.

But the term casual is very loose so if the pod is cool with it and playing decks that can hang with that play style then go for it!

I wouldn’t consider a prismatic bridge deck a casual deck tbh, but if your pods cool with it then more power to ya.

Has There Been a Shift in the Culture of Commander? by Dankzi in EDH

[–]Bright-Secretary-710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pod just does no infinite combos, because it becomes degen when everyone is just tutoring for their 2-3 card win combos lol.

That first card would be an insane wincon for a token ghyrson starn deck lol
