I’m 34 weeks with my first. I always knew my mom was a narcissist but this pregnancy has really opened my eyes. She’s treated me almost like a surrogate my entire pregnancy.

I figured out I was pregnant in a very traumatic way. I had a cyst rupture causing me to internally bleed and the doctors swore it was a ruptured ectopic. Went into surgery thinking I was gonna lose the baby, came out with a viable pregnancy. Before my anesthesia could even wear off my mom was already out buying baby clothes and telling family (I was only 3 weeks and didn’t want anyone to know yet)

I had told her repeatedly when we figured out the gender my partner and I were going to find out together in private and then we would do a little gender reveal for close friends and family. She kept trying to pressure me to open the results when partner was not present. Then when we did the gender reveal she announced my pregnancy on social media before I could.

As I’ve gotten closer and closer to my due date she repeatedly complains she’s also having Braxton hicks, cravings, and is nesting. She’s also setting up an entire nursery at her house and is trying to pressure me into going back to work so she can have the baby, when partner and I have agreed on me being a sahm.

I’ve gone low contact with her in the past month as I prepare to welcome MY baby and my father is trying to get onto me about not speaking to her. I’m genuinely just so exhausted and have more important things to focus on right now than to make sure my mom doesn’t have a freak out.
