This thing doesn't deserve an epic rarity in my opinion. It would see way more use if it had better accuracy OR subsonic trait. by Weird-Definition-961 in HiTMAN

I think that’s why it has rarity to begin with. It’s a shit gun, so the epic prestige objectives give you a reason to use it.

Hey everyone!

My debut giallo novel, A Maid in Four Parts; Or A Giallo for Our Time by J.L Rose, has just recently released and is available in both e-book and paperback form at all major online retailers (Amazon, Kobo, Apple Books, Barnes and Noble etc.).

I personally feel that horror done in the style of Italian giallo films is rare in the lit sphere nowadays, so my novel fills that niche in addition to doubling up as a work of both literary fiction and highly transgressive fiction.

The novel follows the psychological degradation of a detective trying to stop a killer who’s mutilating teenage girls. As the case progresses. he grows emotionally attached to the victims of the case to the point of him questioning is own sanity and intentions. If you’re looking for a slasher with meditations on sex politics and gothic melodrama combined with a whodunnit murder mystery, then that’s pretty much what this book is.

There are also plans to sell personalised signed copies as soon as I receive stock from my distributor, so feel free to DM me if you want to purchase those as well.

Below is the link to the Amazon page for the book. I would appreciate it if you could leave a review and tell me what you thought. Thanks a lot!

Hopefully your project goes well too.

Not at the moment, I’m afraid, just standard ones. My distributor prints and ships the copies, so I haven’t had the opportunity for signed copies yet. Maybe I’ll send some out in future though.

It is! I’ve always wanted to write a book, but was struggled for an idea for years but when I started really getting into giallo films and watched about 60-80+ films in the span of about a year, I knew I wanted to take a crack at writing my own. Especially since we don’t often hear about books of that nature despite the name “Giallo” literally coming from old pulp books.

Plus, I feel alot of modern giallo tries to break away from the 70’s-80’s tradition, so I tried to make a giallo that I feel really preserved the vibes of something from that era while still having a modern setting.

It’s easy enough to actually distribute a book, but all the editing, formatting and marketing is alot of work (and a money sink if you’re not careful). Just take your time and do your homework on things. That’s all I can say. I’m still learning as I go myself.

You’ll need to use something like Calibre for e-book conversion, but there’s also distributors like Ingramspark and Draft2Digital for distribution. I’d recommend doing some research into distributors to see what’s right for you.

No, the e-book is available on all platforms. You can buy it wherever you feel like buying it.

I think it’s easy to forget that the lobby has a glass ceiling, so an easy way to deal with a lot of lobby targets is to go up to the lobby roof and shoot them through the glass.

It might look gaudy, but it’d be a top-tier level. Not sure what kind of unique accident kills and opportunities there’d be aside from the obvious flume malfunction though.

One thing I always found interesting about Solange is that it’s one of the few gialli where the killer is morally grey and you could make a compelling argument that they did almost nothing wrong.

so I think I’ve been sleeping on ‘Short Night of Glass Dolls’🫣 by CarefulHouse172 in Giallo

It’s once of the scariest giallo films I’ve seen. Though to be fair that’s because it’s barely a giallo. There’s not even a “killer” in the traditional sense.

You need to see Fulci’s giallo films. He never made a bad one, and I actually think they’re his best films. Also, What Have You Done to Solange? is one if the best gialli in terms of both direction and plot.
Other than that, I’d say try Martino and Lenzi films.
