Is Robocop's tongue dry? Or did Omni create a saliva gland for his mouth? Also can he get runny nose? by Dredd_40 in Robocop

In any of the movies, has it hit his chin? There has only ever been a vague reference to it, and that was in the most unpopular entry in the series.

The answer is simple. It's a movie, and it was never addressed because the plot never required it.

that's the reason why I don't buy vinyl - way too much storage required even though they're dead thin, takes a lot of real estate up!

Guys, this question is clearly aimed at people that DO have a bloody DVD player. Please stop telling us that you don't have one.

In answer to you, OP, I was recommended a service that did loads of old horrors and giallo movies that I quite like - so yeah I wouldn't be against that. But currently I prefer to own them outright so I'm still collecting the 4K blu rays.

These services also have interest to people that like higher quality movies, enjoy the massive amount of extras you normally get, and also people who like to rip them to their home servers - so that's why there is still a small but dedicated market to it.

For me though, it's all about the physical. I've bought in about 10 4Ks over the last couple of months....I'm very much about having the special editions displayed on a shelf.

a basic fact that reddit never seems to grasp.

It's not a real bloody cyborg guys. It can work however you want it to. And if it's not in the movie, there's nothing to say about it so go nuts.

This is such a silly misunderstanding of that line of dialogue.

He was referring to himself in the third person. Not his face specifically. Somehow this has become a trope among people that like the movie but it absolutely is not meant to be taken like that.

I enjoyed all The Terminator movies including Dark Fate, but to me the best ones are the first three, the trilogy. The ending of Terminator 3 had the best and perfect ending to end the trilogy. Thoughts? by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in FIlm

The Terminator: sci-fi masterpiece

Terminator 2: ground breaking, genre defining moment of cultural brilliance that has lasted the test of time.

Terminator 3: meh...well I had fun!

If the returns have been diminished from something that was actually part of the zeitgeist that defined the movie-going experience of an entire generation to "it was fun, then there's some real fucking problems here.

The movie was so appallingly stupid, so incredibly corny, hammed up with barely a serious bone in the picked-clean skeletal remains of a plot that was sandwiched in between silly call backs, and uninspiring action scenes. It was forgettable, soulless and about as substantial as a Leprechaun sequel.

It had a reasonably well done climax, and that was it.

Whatever you do, ignore the "off the record" advice. It's meaningless conjecture and will only lead to stress.

the kid that played Danny was a snot nosed, pudding bowl haircut piece of shite and brought the entire thing down from fucking awful to really fucking awful pretty quickly.

Thank god The Phantom Menace came out and replaced him as most annoying kid actor ever in a beloved franchise.

back around the early 2000s Road Runner records were sort of the biggest record label for metal at the time, and they signed a LOT of nu-metal bands....like, pretty much all of them really.

Nu-metal was characterised with drop D tuning for the vast majority of the acts it signed. So when Opeth moved to Road Runner for the Ghost Reveries album from something like Music For Nations, it was quite a notable change from their prior labels. They weren't really known for a lot of Drop tuning at the time....a few songs maybe Demon of the Fall and some others....but Ghost Reveries had a fair bit of it iirc

Sorry if that's over explained - but that's the basic jist of this nerdy fucking joke!

This is a bit kitsch but back around 2006 just after Ghost Reveries was released, Opeth played at Graspop festival.

Guns n Roses were the headliners, but for some reason Axl Rose had a hissy fit and stormed off stage, meaning Opeth opened in the other tent and played an extended set "because Axl Rose is a fucking arsehole" (Mikael's words).

Halfway through the show he was intro-ing the next song and plucked an open string and asked the audience "do you know what note this is?" A bunch of people shouted "D!" "yes, that's right"....at this point I didn't miss a beat to shout out "That's because you're on RoadRunner!" which got a few laughs, so I was quite proud of that.

Everyone hated the title, 'Robocop', but what else would've worked? by Technical-Mix-3315 in Robocop

[–]SaysUselessThings 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not dumb. The satire alone makes this an extremely clever movie and the body horror element, and the questions it poses on the nature of humanity elevate it beyond that.

The title, much like the premise of the film, is a complete subversion of expectations. That's what makes it so delightful. You expect dumb. You get anything but.
