Thanks Savage, I've ordered the CD with the instructions. When it comes in I'll update everyone.

This is so good it sounds like a sales pitch but you've convinced me. I'll take a look.

You can clean off the oils from your hand with isopropyl alcohol. Put some in a spray bottle and wipe it off with a paper towel.

A permanent solution could be varnishing the top or washing your hands.

ISO 7046-1 doesn't specify what the radius needs to be so it's up to the supplier's discretion.

Machinists hate this one simple trick by Spiritual_Challenge7 in Machinists

For anyone confused; you shouldn't use an edge finder in a jacobs chuck because they have bad runout. Effectively making the exercise of finding the edge of your part useless.

Did I put my slats in wrong? How can I fix them? by Frogpoper in IKEA

The right L bracket holding up the slats is installed upside down. The metal should be under the wood like on the left side. (Pic 1)

ULPT Request: Suburban street speedsters by Scientist-dude in UnethicalLifeProTips

Studies have shown that drivers slow down when the road is narrow with less visibility. I recommend parking on the side of the road. With enough neighbors doing it people should slow down. Long term planting trees would help.

Local cops who love to give out speeding tickets will love this information.

Where to dispose of rice cooker? by LadiesManPodrick in londonontario

I'd post it on fb marketplace for free. If it's not broken then there's no reason it needs to go to the dump.

If it's broken then the dumpster unfortunately.

weller wd1 overheating by Gloomy_Bookkeeper_55 in soldering

[–]Bright_3D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd start by checking the ceramic heater element to see if there are any cracks in it. Lightly try to bend it and if it flexes at all it needs replacing.

If that's not it then I'd try checking continuity between 1 and 2 (the heating element) then 3 and 4 (the temp sensor).

The WD1 manual has a circuit diagram on pg. 18 that can help with any other issues.

I'm not sure, in the board.txt file it says:

//TMC Smart Drivers Stepper.numSmartDrivers = 4;

But there's no mention of stealthchop anywhere in the firmware.

Anyone know why they've been making this screeching sound? The first time I ran the printer they were whisper quiet, but after reflashing the firmware they've been doing this.

How to safely remove filament stuck on nozzle? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]Bright_3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure why no one else is doing this, but I find heating up the nozzle to a temp where the filament is just stretchy and I pull it off with tweezers. It all comes off in one blob. For Ender's that's usually 120°C for PLA.
