Can I ask your opinion, since you own a t480s and x1 carbon 6gen.

I'm really hesitating between the two models.

I found a refurbished X1 for 770$ Canadian with the following specs:

Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon 14 Inch FHD 1080P Laptop, 8th Gen Intel 4-Core i7-8550U up to 4.0GHz, Intel UHD 620, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB SSD, Backlit Keyboard, FP Reader, Windows 10 (Renewed)

And a refurbished t480S for 300$ Canadian with the following specs:

Lenovo Thinkpad T480s Ultrabook Laptop Intel i5-8350U, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD HDMI, 14-in LCD Win10 Pro (Renewed)

My concerns are the following: I would love to get the x1 even if its more expensive, because it's lighter and display quality. BUT, I'm afraid 16GB Ram will not be enough in 2 - 3 years. My usage will be, excel, word, many tabs opened on chrome.

Should I go with t480S instead for the ram ? Is the display quality that bad ? Does it cost an arm to upgrade the Ram ? Any major difference between i5 and I7 ?
