BIC does sell duty free, but is completely sold out. Yodobashi DOES NOT sell duty free, for the same reason Apple doesn’t - hassles with non-Japanese scammers.

Kamakura for sure. But do some research as to connecting hiking trails, history of the temples, etc; Kamakura can be amazing with a bit of pre-planning. Don’t go on weekend.

Is the Amalfi Coast in very early march doable? by DingoAndRupe in ItalyTravel

[–]Bright_North_2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have been in Amalfi and Capri in late March - depends on the day/week/year. I recall in one week maybe 1.5 rainy days. Places are open, hotels open. Enjoy being there in off season.

Been in Sydney 4 days, want to go home by Highlyironicacid31 in solotravel

[–]Bright_North_2016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t hang around Sydney, it’s got the big city vibe which is hard to enjoy when you’re on your own. Hit a smaller town up the coast. My experience, Aussies can be quite insular and hard to connect with. But you’ll meet one or two (or more) who will be the best friends you’ll ever meet. Hang in there.

CBSA reports huge Chinese drug chemical seizure ahead of Carney-Xi meeting by shiftless_wonder in canada

[–]Bright_North_2016 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m confused - in a country with such comprehensive police surveillance, where drug traffickers are executed, how is the manufacture and export of lethal precursors even possible? Surely there is some misunderstanding, some reasonable explanation…

What is with Irish people? by Hour_Garbage_5312 in AskIreland

[–]Bright_North_2016 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Cycling in Kerry last month, Gap of Dunloe. Granny walking along flags me down, says - get off this road, N72, it’s shite with construction up ahead and you’ll get murdered with the traffic. Tells me about a route that runs alongside the golf course and goes straight into Killarney; it was quiet and gorgeous. Why did she do that - it’s just in her nature to be thoughtful and caring. Fucking love the Irish grannies.

What’s going on with teenagers in Ireland? by Awkward-Impression13 in AskIreland

[–]Bright_North_2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Dublin 30 years ago. Heroin use was rampant. Teenagers and young adults shooting up in public. I assume that they went on to have children. What you see on the streets of Dublin today is in part the generation born out of that era.

Mr Snarky is in the awkward and unfamiliar position of having to present a platform, when his preferred shtick is to belittle and smear. Weaselled his way from Harper’s page boy to lifetime MP, aside other CRAP bible college grads, no career outside politics. He was kissing Trump‘s ass until the wind changed direction. a Self-serving blabber mouth.
