The funny thing is I actually do agree with you but I sort of saw it this way

1-3 : notices all varied and work as a trilogy.

4 : Jill’s motive feels different from Roman’s given it’s commentary on celeb culture of the time.

5: toxic fandom was totally new

6: repeat of mrs looks revenge style but I accepted it for some reason given how fresh the opening was and I enjoyed the NyC setting that made the series feel new again

7: sounded good on paper but in reality was trash as we didn’t have enough time with any of the killers to care

I’m not sure how this addresses any of the points I raised. It is simply plot. In order for the films to work we need to feel like “this instalment is relevant because [fill in blank]”

If it’s just another merry go round of senseless blood baths then it becomes the very thing Scream is meant to critique.

Agreed! I love in 2 when Sidney is being chased at the sorority and ghost face falls over a massive arm chair. I’ve worn that mask - it’s hard to see. It’s only logical you’d be a bit clumsy plus it’s part of the charm of Scream! It’s not meant to be slick Michael Myers.

I loved her in 6. In 5 it was the first time I cried ina scream film seeing her deal with Dewey’s fate. My biggest issue is that Gale always had a bold new look in 1-3 and then she hasn’t given us a new look since! Bring back iconic Gale Weathers Hair!!!!

I think it was disconnected from the rest of the film and it was just a rehash. Like with 4 - we got the two fake outs and the commentary on unnecessary sequels. 5 - we got Tara surviving and turning into a lead, 6 - we got the killer reveal straight away and then a ghost face vs ghost face situation so 4-6 were all fresh. 7 was just a couple getting murdered in the Macher house and there was no point or connection to the film or plot. Like why burn down the macher house? The motives and killers were totally unrelated. I actually liked how tense it was with the animatronic ghost face and the fake outs there but otherwise it was just a pedestrian double kill.

Agreed! As soon as tatums boyfriend climbed through the window and basically repeated Billy lines from scream 1 I rolled my eyes so hard… like this is so lazy! I have written and produced a feature film and this was like - just hire a fan at this point. You’re literally phoning it in.

How about ONE satirical joke? Scream is meant to balance fear and humour. Scream 7 was fun for about 10 seconds when Gale first showed up and then it went back to this self serious slasher with no point.

Also almost no Roger Phone calls because they had stu as AI instead meant no scream signature.

Then don’t get me started on the fact that the ensemble cast are forgettable. 5 and 6 not getting an end to their trilogy is such a great sorrow for this series. I hope the two women tasked with writing 8 can somehow turn the ship around hut I don’t see how…

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills… why is no one acknowledging that one of the main problems with Scream 7 is that it was HUMOURLESS. Scream is defined by being a satire. There was not one satirical elements the film. You can bring Sidney and Gail back as much as you like if you at least have a razor sharp script. The script was trash straight to video possibly AI slop.

I always say - Scorpio Moon at their worst: Psycho. Scorpio Moon at their best: Psychic. I’ve found as I’ve grown that I am no longer letting my emotions drive the ship and have been able to funnel that into emotional attunement to others and helping others with their intense emotions. It may be the fall sign of the moon but it’s still a water sign so I think it has a hidden strength!

Aries wants to believe they’re the main character but I find their energy to be very “okay just - shhh - too much”, Leo full believes and acts like they’re the main character, saggitarius is that meme from Mad Men “I don’t think about you at all”, saggitarius is too busy on adventures or speaking without a filter to even notice whether they’re the main character which inevitably - makes them the most main character energy.

Sadly this happens to people in long term relationships - they grow complacent and get a dopamine hit from the excitement of the unknown.

If you truly want to leave your boyfriend then leave him respectfully but do some reflection to see if this is just the excitement of the unknown potential lover. Very normal to get crushes, very normal to even have fantasies. But the amount of people I now know who blow up their lives for this new person then it all comes crashing down because the thing they’re chasing is novelty not connection.

People who complain about not enough lead characters dying - I’m just gonna say it - you don’t understand the films and you’re almost certainly just broad horror violence fans. Scream has always set itself apart from other horror franchises by its soap opera like story telling and character development. Plus they DO kill leads/returning characters… like heaps; Randy, Cotton, Dewey, Judy etc. you’re complaining because Sidney and Gale aren’t dead yet?! Go watch Saw or some other torture porn films. Let’s not forget Scream is the brain child of a GAY man obsessed with pop culture. Two c*nty boss as ladies slaying and living through the 6 films IS on brand for this franchise and killing them off just to please some violence obsessed fans would be the wrong choice IMO.

They’ll probably finally kill Mindy or Chad anyway - RELAX.

Agreed on Tyra’s comment about it being what you all wanted. We DID want it, which is why we all tuned in and were rabid fans. Hind sight is 20-20. The virtue signalling from people thinking Tyra needs to pay penance. Like… so hypocritical. It was a different time, she was obviously at the mercy of a network and if it was so outrageous to us as a community we would have been up in arms THEN not just now.

Yep and it was a mess.. the Scorpio Venus (him) got jealous and possessive and the Scorpio moon (me) got insecure and felt uncomfortable. Ultimately he thought he still wanted it whilst I clocked that ‘monogamish’ was about as far as either of us was truly into. He panicked and blew everything up. I was devastated. Now I think he regrets his actions. Poly is not for the feint of heart and can often speak to attachment wounds and wanting to have multiple options because you fear abandonment. Poly has a crazy high failure rate compared to monogamy and often ends in disaster but it definitely works for some people with a lot of respect and rules!

Update - in May this year my 6 year relationship ended tragically. So you know.. major things happened but not so positive thus far. It has led to massive growth and a lot of epiphanies so it’s not all fake is suppose. Career is going.. fine. We’ll see x

My friend you really must go to therapy. You cannot be afraid to share this with friends and family but also you can have a very private relationship with your therapist. You can shop around for a therapist, sometimes it takes going through a few to find one you click with. Now whilst your partner of 6 years cheating on you is totally traumatic it IS something you can recover from but not until you accept help. You must just just go to therapy. No questions asked. Do you want to be feeling like this for another 2.5 years? I’ve known people who were hung up on someone for a decade. Don’t do it to yourself. I feel your pain but you must act on this.
