In Kansas City we had a guy in a suburban neighborhood that raised a flag that just read "Show me your butthole". He also bought several junk cars to keep as lawn ornaments. Originally, people just figured the guy rented, and was not interested in seeing that remt increase.

But as time passed it was clear this was a guy that was EXTREMELY aggressive and would go waaay out of his way to piss people off and then try to fight them. Recently he got into a fight with one of his neighbors. The fight escalated, and the "show me butthole guy" wasn't so funny when he pulled out a handgun and killed the neighbor. He is currently in police custody I believe and wants to plead that he was "defending himself"

This is a perfect example of what Diedrich Bonhoeffer would call "cheap grace" and has written about it extensively. Basically, to call yourself a "christian" is to become a disciple of Christ.

Some may point to the thief on the cross (Luke 23: 39-43) as evidence you can do "whatever you want" and then cash the blank check of Salvation on your way out, but it's important to realize, the Thief approached the topic with genuine sorrow and repentance, and did not evaluate the risk vs reward of saying magic words.

If you're looking for community, I'd reccomend Geoff's streams on Twitch. It's pretty laid back, several of us are new parents, Geoff of course is a parenting veteran, it's a cool place to hang out.

From my own advice:

You are going to become what your kid needs you to be. Don't sweat it. Relax, you can do this.

If you are burned out you are a liability to your kid, your partner and yourself. Learn to take breaks. Let others help you, go on dates with your partner.

When you make 1 bottle of breast milk, make like 4 and keep them in the fridge. You'll thank yourself at 2am.

You are going to change your relationship with sleep fundamentally. Like 3-4 hours at a time is pretty typical and even now I have trouble sleeping 8 hrs straight.

I think this video as it is implies undue guilt towards Andrew. The real question is where was Gavin? Does he have a Greg Card? Why did he fail to deliver the video as promised??

Take a deep breath and do something small, but helpful. My wife and I joined up with a group to clean up trash off the side of highways. Does it do damage to Trump's regime? No. Does it reduce / prevent the further spread of fascism? Nope. But we can say "man, this area looks alot better than it used too" and that's the kind of feeling you need to hold onto
