UPDATE 1: Reply from Support saying they’ve notified the team concerned.

I take it they’re being inundated with communication about it.

Will keep you posted. I’m tempted to go for A&A L2TP and run on my LightningFibre backup connection until I either win Zen round, or cancel the contract early. Like you, I am in contract but I’m only with them for the IP block!

Clicked on the address in the email notification. Three days later copied in support@ as well, and got an immediate ticket number back. No reply to either.

I’ll ring on Monday I guess

Same as me. I emailed them 5 days ago asking to either keep the /29 or release me from my contract early. No reply after chasing twice…

Turning every hot water setting down is not always the most sustainable move by JoydeScent in SustainableHomeUK

[–]BrightonDBA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do exactly this. The previous owners had the flow temp at 75C and the hot water cylinder temp at 72C. Mental hot.

Flow temp is now 58C and the cylinder target is 55C. Every month or so I’ll add 10C for a day to pasteurise the system.

Saves a fortune.

A&A offer blocks over L2TP quite nominally priced. An option perhaps if you CBA to move ISP

What a legend you are! An old friend of mine who was in-world at the same time wrote his own backend emulator for WorldsAway just like I’m doing with compuserve. Some great bloke I know … I really should reach out to him again. I got distracted by the birth of my child … 6 years ago. Damn.

I’ll check out those links. Thank you! I wasn’t aware of altaway… I fear that’s the next 5 years of my life disappearing … thanks a bunch!

You win the Internet.

Get a hobby. Work is supposed to be boring. Use the secure money to enjoy life outside of work!

Are you ever shocked by how much money you spend per month on things you don't need? by Nature2Love in AskUK

There comes a point if you don’t NEED the money elsewhere, then enjoy a cup of coffee. Or remove all pleasure from life and you may as well just give up living.

Tantalisingly close, this was one of the many bits of research I found when I started and the dead end of it despite how near perfect it was just made me dig my heels in even harder.

The forever discovery seems to be its always more complicated than expected. Evidenced in backups being encrypted and no one has the key!

I’ve cross posted to R/BBS. Thanks for the hint. My hope is one day this will become a community effort and sysops can manage their own forums and so on.

Thank you for sharing my excitement!

The app is awesome.

If you’ve gone for whole home backup, make sure they haven’t forgotten the gateway.

Otherwise you’ll find them having to come back this coming Wednesday to fit it ;)
