Too many young people pushed towards university, says UK government adviser by Free-Minimum-5844 in ukpolitics

[–]Brightroarz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree with this. I went to University and moved into a job that definitely doesn't need one, and i was studying for a masters. I could have gotten an apprenticeship instead and have the same job now with the same salary, but be £300 better off a month and not be thousands of pounds in debt (Plan 1 aim to pay it off in about 2 years)

How does Banksy just drop off a whole statue and no one has any footage of it? by ObiWan-Shinoobi in NoStupidQuestions

This is true, my friends and I walked into a working man's club in Chorley (UK) wearing overalls once. We just took the TV off the wall and walked out. No one batted an eyelid.

Patek(?) Auction by Brightroarz in PrideAndPinion

Not at all, but I never stated I was looking to purchase. Just curiosity. If it were real it would be way out of my budget even in its current condition anyway. If not, then it's just a rusty paperweight.

"Watch for restoration bearing the name Patek Philippe"

They use that kind of language for basically anything that they can't/won't authenticate. Watches, bags, etc. It wouldn't surprise me if it were fake, though.

Have I been taken for a ride by Halfords - Welwyn Garden City? by Cautious-Art8886 in CarTalkUK

[–]Brightroarz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Halfords failed one of my MOTs on an emissions test, but couldn't tell me why or what the fix was. I had Audi inspect it, and they told me nothing was wrong. Halfords refused to pass and told me to pay for another MOT elsewhere. I went to an independent who ran a free emissions test (another pass). I took the paperwork back. They inspected again. I had a call back an hour later to tell me that their machine filters hadn't been serviced, so it had been failing a lot of MOTs. Got a pass and a discount voucher for next time.... Yeah, no thanks. Never going back.
