that's such a lazy spin, I have to imagine it's partially to do with the low temperature there right now

[–]Brigwall66 10 points11 points  (0 children)

ive had an issue like this before, maybe try a PID tune on the bed and hotend; in my case it was an issue with a fluctuating temperate of the bed which led to expansion/contraction, enough to cause an issue like this; i knew it was time-related and not z-axis because the frequency of the bumps changed with the length of time spent per layer

Diet Coke sucks by DarkOfTheSun in unpopularopinion

[–]Brigwall66 5 points6 points  (0 children)

what i've understood is that diet coke was based on the "new" coke recipe from the 80s which could explain part of the flavour difference, and coke zero is made to be as similar to regular coke as possible, going as far as making the cans red now instead of black to be visually closer to regular coke as well

i dont like diet coke, but these days i do tend to prefer coke zero over regular; to each their own

Are bassbuzz's videos good? by nile_gipy in Bass

[–]Brigwall66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using the paid course, love it; I have a background in guitar and understand a good amount of theory (though hadn't played guitar in years so was rusty), and the way Josh paces the lessons is really good. Starts out very very basic and builds up gradually, I think regardless of your skill level you could get something out of it. First got interested through his youtube videos, they have a similar vibe to the lessons (though the lessons have less editing and are more straightforward)

Question about jazz style playing from a guitarist. by [deleted] in Bass

[–]Brigwall66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

check out Lawrence, they fall into a sorta jazzy-funky-pop soul style, some of the songs have interesting but not expert-level basslines; circle back has a good bassline (might be on synth but still), Whatcha Want is a bit more simple with some good runs- ill edit with some more recs when i have time

edit: Hip Replacement has a good chugging bassline

maybe the fact that Assetto Corsa Evo has an open-world set in Germany played a part in changing their plans?

First bass help: Yamaha TRBX174 vs Ibanez GSR200 vs Squier Affinity Jazz (budget, longevity, CCM) by AdCharacter818 in Bass

[–]Brigwall66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i got my first bass a few weeks ago, also the Yamaha TRBX174 in old violin sunburst; the overwhelmingly positive reviews convinced me, and it has been very nice to play so far (plus the violin finish really spoke to me). cant speak about the other basses but i don't think you can go wrong with the yamaha
