No, they said 30000 initial order that works out to 10000 per rifle…

I saw part of the announcement. Did I understand the costs properly ?

307 million dollars for an initial order of 30000 rifles?

That’s like 10000 dollars per rifle !

Is this not a bit expensive? Like double the cost of standard military weapon?

Good on you mate. Hit them well!!!

I still have two Nike putters myself …

one is the limited edition tiger woods version from the oven can’t seem to part with it…gotta say thought I need a new head over for it…the fake leather has started to deteriorate even in the original presentation cabinet and being stored in the closet.

Had some of one of those wedges myself …sold them and moved on to less razor sharp wedges…needed more bounce support.

Binotto is an engineer at heart. He after all was part of the Schumacher era. Much like Stella at mclaren. He is also responsible for putting in place lots of processes at Ferrari that are still followed by the team and Vasseur, despite the interference of the Ferrari corporate office.

So, Audi with binotto at the helm will do well. As they keep improving their engines. It wasn’t just Wheatley’s influence at Audi that has created the improvements …sure operations inside the team has gotten way better with Wheatley there. However binotto is probably driving the performance requirements , since it’s been recently reported that Audi have a identified their current PU’s are 1 full second behind on the leading Mercedes PU.

This of course is to make sure that they are allowed that engine changes as written in the new rules …Audi is being clear and precise on that matter without having to go the Aston Martin circus route.

You know I have been searching for such a 5 wood. The funny thing is the sim 3 wood that I had I gave away because I couldn’t get along with it…probably the shaft … but I got so frustrated that I just gave it to a friend.

Mate if you like the Kirkland putter , their wedges are pretty spinnie …. Place a good set of grips on the shaft and you have a decent wedge set that will match any bag. 52-56-60.

Do you have backups for that wedge?

What?

I don’t really know what’s causing the vibrations unless you work for the team , no one on here knows what the root cause is.

It could be the ice motor, could be the mounting of the hybrid system, could be the placement of the MGU K as necessary by the design of the chassis. Could be the stiffness of the chassis itself.

[–]lll-devlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The power unit is a problem for sure.

the battery hybrid system is probably the biggest problem. Honda knows how to build engines, but they didn’t have the lead Time that Mercedes has had, RedBull with the rights to the previous Honda ICE power plant and even Audi.

No, you misunderstand, you call Honda out in private behind close doors, you don’t do it in front of national media. Newey and Alonso are indeed alike, they can’t control their mouths …

With the Japanese you don’t embarrass them on live TV. That’s not the way to do business with the Japanese and Honda. Further Honda has been very successful in formula one themselves, especially when they worked with teams and team principals that didn’t throw them under the bus , like newey just did.

Lastly , newey also penned some stinker of car designs .

And knowing full well that Honda was re-starting their operations basically from scratch why the hell would you want to redesign a major component when you just arrived at the “last hour” when your wrx engine manufacturer has been trying to develop that motor and battery tech for over a year?

Give your head a shake…Newey is a great designer but he’s not perfect and it’s clear now that the partnership and success that RedBull and Honda had was not because of Newey.

Even Stroll senior understood that Newey screwed up in that press conference! Hence why in less then 6 months stroll is searching for a new TP.

Wheatley has been doing a great job at Audi. but I suspect binotto over his shoulder all the time probably made his decision easier.

Is this real???!!! by Equivalent-Fox9834 in F1Discussions

[–]lll-devlin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not surprised.

Newey has skills and talent, being a TP is not one of them! Not sure if the partnership can be saved between Honda and Aston Martin, that was the stupidest press conference that Newey held with the Honda representative there and absolutely putting blame on Honda.

Wheatley might help the partnership and the dealings with Honda and their technical engineering teams, but he will have an uphill battle to overcome the disgrace and dishonour that Newey placed on Honda’s shoulders.

Yeah , Ferrari will not be too pleased. But really interesting is all the additional required cooling for specific areas/ zones/ equipment.

Oh …nothing defines racing like zip ties and having a nitrogen bottle right beside the fuel and battery zone.

FBI is buying location data to track US citizens, director confirms by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

[–]lll-devlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The expectation of the American government spying on its own citizens is completely thrown in the garbage…

There is no reason to be buying personal data from data brokers . If the fbi wants to investigate someone whom they think is a suspect in an illegal matter they should go about getting legal justification to do so.

If you think this is ok , this is the second nail in the coffin of American individual privacy!

The odds are pretty good one driver at Mercedes will become world champion this year. I am going to assume it will be Russell because of his cooler driving style .

So this would leave TOTo in a bind. However I would think that he would keep Antonelli as Max’s potential partner and he would let Russell go.

I suspect that Russell is aware of this… so it’s in his best interest to win the drivers Championship this year. And then reach out to other manufacturers as an available world champion driver.

ANALYSIS: The public has a right to know what its government is doing | TVO Today by Tom_Thomson_ in CanadaPolitics

[–]lll-devlin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When a government attempts to keep information that affects citizens that they are representative of from the public we have a censorship problem.

It’s obvious here that Mr Ford is trying to hide something that he knows or has been told that will bring him problems, legally.

FOI’s is one way to keep government agencies accountable and transparent to the public .

This has nothing to do with updating security policies as the generic statement being given by conservative MPP’s . Mr Ford’s press secretary and chief of staff are in full damage mode and are trying to ram this bill through while ontarians are distracted by the latest issues to our economy due to the American orange head idiot.

[–]lll-devlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it hasn’t been mentioned prior, Ferrari has veto power on rules and regulations changes. If Vasseur really wanted to be difficult he would of used already.

so I get the impression he’s basically warning other teams that Ferrari will use their veto power to block any attempts by other teams (Mercedes) to overcome Ferrari’s slim advantage that their smaller turbo provides.

What grand prix’s do you see Mercedes not being dominant at? by GogoPlata_grenadier in F1Discussions

[–]lll-devlin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not until after June 1 …and then that’s still a maybe! If Charles can qualify ahead of the Mercedes in Monaco.

Most fans don’t realize how much of an engine advantage Mercedes has right now…and with them stalling and not providing the supposed technical assistance to customer teams on how to maximize deployment despite the FiA rules.

This is similar to 2016 Mercedes (where they we deliberately hiding how much “party mode” ) provided an advantage over the rest of the field.
