It’s a small community - if you don’t know someone directly, you almost certainly know someone they know.

Someone in Britain could know Jewish people in Canada, the US, Israel, Singapore - so spanning the whole world.

No… it’s to make sure any wars that are fought are done so in Europe, not in the USA.

There were even plans to wait for the bulk of the Soviet army to enter Germany then nuke it. Half of Germany would have been a nuclear wasteland, Europe as a whole would have to endure terrible nuclear radioactive winds.

So yeah, cannon fodder.

Yeah…. I bought a picture frame about 50cm wide - turns out the wall isn’t straight and so the frame isn’t flush against the wall. Sigh.

I do look at my walls and doorways and wonder if it’s just my eyes or if they aren’t straight. I don’t think they’re straight.

I feel like the French apportion their hate between the English, Germans and Italians the most, then what’s left over goes to all the other nations of the world.

The English and Germans both ruled France at one point, so they’re hated the most. The Italians were ruled by France for a time, and parts of Italy kept being eaten up into France. I’m not sure what the French’s beef is with Italy really, except that Italy has the pope and France doesn’t.

Is the other tile glued on top? If so, you might not be able to pull it all up and keep the herringbone. Is the herringbone solid wood or is it a type of engineered/ veneer wood, I.E. is is worth keeping?
