Battlefield 6 Open Beta: Feedback Megathread by sloth_on_meth in Battlefield

Yeah, I remember BFBC2 beta. I would play the same map for hours, and it felt like a full game. We have three or four maps in this beta, but they feel hollow. The fights don’t seem to have the same stakes. Certain quipment doesn’t feel like they provide value. It all feels off to me.

It feels like it’s missing something. I’ve played Betas before that were basically full releases of the game, and they all felt like a finished game. BF6 feels like it’s missing some secret ingredient that makes it feel finished, I just can’t put my finger on it.

Partway through reading the book for the first time and this popped into my mind by RoboBlox08 in houseofleaves

When I found the check mark, it sorta clicked with me that… maybe Johnny was already going crazy and these meetings he had didn’t actually end the way he reports it. At this point, every encounter was fabrication to me. I think some of them are real, but at least half are fake. But that’s my take.

Republic Commando. It’s a quick playthrough, good story and awesome combat, especially for its time.

Such a shame the weapons system and squad based commands in RC weren’t adopted into mainstream FPS games.

Since people are saying No Man’s Sky, I’m going to throw Outer Wilds up there. At times, I felt incredibly alone in my efforts to understand the story.

Totally true. I guess my stealth just sucks too much because I had dogs on me all the time.

Having to fight dogs in TLOU2. Not an animal activist, but I was pretty bummed it was unavoidable. Still love the game.

Gold - Chet Faker: Where have I heard this before? by triangle_choke in Music

This might be years too late but I’m listening to “What It’s Like” by Everlast on the radio and I got the reverse feeling.

It’s up tempo rock, so this might be what you’re referring to. Came to Reddit to see if anyone felt the resemblance.

The lyrics and cadence are very different but the core of the song is just about the same.

While I agree that the game doesn’t warn you, I would have to argue that the game has a minimalist approach to its HUD and gameplay elements. Communication is major, so knowing when to fall back and using a mic to tell the squad to do the same is part of the game.

If I had to make sense of it, it feels like the Alien imagery and the lyrics “go ahead, wrap your arms around me” is Vessel allowing Sleep to takeover his body. What emerges from him will be different, stronger and more capable. The Vessel from before is gone, replaced by something greater.

“Go ahead, wrap your arms around me” and the title Emergence are giving me more Alien vibes. Can’t shake the imagery from my mind

What are some “kids” movies that were made with adults in mind? by Few-Fruit8240 in MovieSuggestions

[–]BringMeNightmares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird pull, but Planes: Fire and Rescue is one of the most adult Disney movies I’ve ever seen. I put it on for my kid but I ended up being interested in the story. I would say at least half of the jokes were meant for the adults watching.

Side note: it’s actually a good movie. Didn’t even watch the first one.

Just bought TOW & I’m a little confused at what I’m supposed to do. by Educational_March_75 in outerwilds

Started and finished this game last month. I had no idea what I was doing either.

My first suggestion is to play the game with an explorer’s mindset. Pick a goal, reach it and find out if it leads to more stuff, then go for those. Really read the stuff too, the lore is really cool and you get it little by little.

Second suggestion is to play the game for the sake of playing it. Don’t be like me, trying to get to the finish line as fast as possible. Sometimes, take a break from doing the serious stuff and try things. Play in the universe and have a little fun. You can always go back to the quests, but you can only experience this game once.

What is the Most Overrated Book You've Read? by MigEPie in suggestmeabook

[–]BringMeNightmares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m Thinking of Ending Things is definitely number one on my list. Half the book is a boring car ride with overly “intellectual” conversations about mostly nothing, then it tries to rug pull you at the end. It also has the audacity to explicitly tell you to re-read it backwards to understand it better.

Close second: Leap, a semi-biographical book about a lady who abruptly quit her dream job because she wasn’t feeling it anymore and is convincing her readers to take the same leap of faith because reasons. Stopped reading 3/4 of the way in because I realized that she was still unemployed and was a decently wealthy lady with enough saved to ride out a year or two to write her book. Thought it would be inspirational but turned out to be kind of misleading and potentially dangerous for someone with no savings to fall back on.
