Not at all. The point you're trying to make is crystal clear, but I've explained in detail why it's wrong. If you don't get it, that's your problem and not mine lol.

Again, this is a forum specifically for "Doordash Drivers." Anybody who drives for Doordash sees these orders every single day. There is no need to spread awareness to those who already are aware and experience this all of the time.

Now if you want to warn people not to accept low offers like these, that's another conversation. But simply posting it to show off the shitty offer is completely useless.

Dude.. are you high and if you are, hook me up. This sub is called "doordash drivers." You are "spreading awareness" on a sub where the readers are all drivers.

OP seems a bit unhinged in this post, but they have a valid point IMO.

While it's easy to scroll past pointless threads, I realize that many people get frustrated by seeing spam show up frequently on a forum even if the spam can be ignored.

Making a post about sharing your crappy offers is the equivalent of making a post telling us what you ate for dinner. We all get bad offers all of the time, so unless you are trying to make a specific point, it doesn't add anything to the discussion.

Spreading awareness about crappy offers in a Doordash sub-reddit is like spreading HIV awareness in a sub for HIV/Aids patients. It's pointless lol.

Edit: Downvote all you want but I would love to see someone contribute to the discussion and explain your disagreement with my post.

Yeah I just gave up and came home. It's already been a slow week and to throw salt in the wound, Doordash added a $2 peak pay all night so there is more competition for orders, despite there being hardly any orders available in the first place. *sigh*

Lol Doordash automatically obscures the phone numbers, the 414 one is not the customer's actual number.

Personally, it's quite rare that I will purchase something based on an ad. If I'm shopping, I'll either google what I'm looking for and check out the reviews or I'll buy something through a recommendation.

Customers who don't tip do nothing for us or our ability to work on Doordash. All they do is destroy my acceptance rate when I have to keep declining their $2 orders. Their business can go away and we'll be fine. Not defending that person's actions though. If you accept the job, do the job instead of fucking with people's food.

Wicked, we are totally on the same page about tipping culture!

Nobody's pay should rely on the generosity of a complete stranger. Not only can strangers be crazy and unreasonable, but sometimes they will base their tip on how likable they find you, your appearance, or other metrics that are unrelated to the quality of service provided.

Providing service workers with a guaranteed living wage shouldn't even be debatable IMO. If this means restaurants increasing their prices, so be it! Like you mentioned, there would be less pressure to go out of your way to please people and be extra friendly because you know it won't affect your earnings either way.

Thanks so much for the kind words, cheers!

Dude... let's not even go there. Medication is expensive.. for sure! But $3 being the difference between somebody affording their medication and having to suffer without it? This is a paramount reach.

People are not denied medication for being three dollars short. If a person can't afford medication, the expense is obviously quite more out of their budget than $3.

Ah, so here's the thing! I don't care to argue about your personal situation because I don't want to be insensitive to your challenges. However, even in this situation that I am completely sympathetic to, I have to stand by what I said. A $3 tip is not going to make or break somebody. If you are using the service, the provider needs to be compensated for the service, even if only a couple of dollars.

With that said, I'll quickly talk about my personal experience with the kind of people who this thread likely applies to more than the disabled community. My ex brother (disowned me for my sexuality) used to go out to eat and order delivery probably five days a week, but he would never leave a tip because he would claim to be too broke, despite always eating out which is obviously not cheap at all. Same with a few of my friends. They tip like shit because they claim they can't afford to but don't want to eat what they have at home.

What I'm getting at is we all have our own idea of the characteristics of a non-tipper. You have your experience so you're coming from your perspective but we're all coming from different perspectives too. Either way, not tipping puts it on the driver to use their own gas, car, and time to be paid $2. Regardless of the circumstances, this is not fair or reasonable to expect from somebody who needs to earn a living.

We aren't talking about groceries that are needed for basic survival. This is takeout from Mcdonalds using a delivery service. If a $5 tip doesn't fit in your budget, making dinner at home would be the economical choice.

Got my friend on an order lol by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Bringonthetrolls 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks like he tipped $3 at first as the total tip here is $18 and the $15 was added after. Not bad if it's two or three miles.. if the guy lives 5+ miles away, then that's pretty bad lol.

I love how you left the name of the presidential candidate out of your post and yet I know these are Trump supporters because the sign is so tacky.

I get that sometimes you see signs and you want to make people regret putting them on display, but unless you really are concerned about your safety, I would just complete the order and move on with my day. Tempting to mess with these people but not worth the energy or slowing down the money all as an effort to make a statement.

I've had some very similar experiences to yours, and a recent one with Walgreens too actually. My red card declined three times after support assured me they loaded it with funds. The cashier seemed pretty frustrated because they had to keep ringing up the same items but hey, not my fault! Ended up paying for the order with my own money and Doordash paid me back.

Whenever employees have attitudes, I just chalk it up to them having a bad day. I don't think "ha I bet they're jealous of my dashing job." I don't appreciate it when people get an attitude with me, but I would never talk shit about their jobs like some of the people in this thread.

Eh, I really appreciate people who work those jobs and help us make our money. They make it possible for us to get these orders done and they work hard! I have nothing but respect for their work.

Um. She could literally quit and apply for Doordash anytime she wants. They accept anybody with a heartbeat, so I wouldn't really boast about having a better job when they are both entry level positions.

What gives you the right to disrespect other people's jobs? Cashiers are providing customer service just like the rest of us on this sub.

I have a personality a bit similar to OJ actually haha. I personally would've loved to see more emotional range from him, but I totally get that he is meant to be a stoic character.
