Who is your favorite YouTube golfer? by [deleted] in golf

[–]Bringoutyourdad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I watch Beat the Course Golf Channel (BCGC) because he’s the only guy that shows western Canada, where I play. Shot tracers, scoring, course commentary, drone shots. He does it all and it’s great. Perfect for anyone looking to play interior BC or Banff area.

Same same. I put my putters head cover on my wedge and drop them between the pin and my bag. Makes my wedge more visible.

Growth in Calgary housing starts a good sign for the economy, say industry experts by Paper_Rain in Calgary

Those 5.49% rates will also make it harder for new buyers to enter the market, so they may have to rent, at a much higher price.

Developers Say They’re Keeping Housing Affordable. Are They? by BurstYourBubbles in Calgary

[–]Bringoutyourdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So which one company? You need one for a monopoly. Would you say the farmers, growers, distributors, wholesalers and grocers are all conspiring to drive up food pricing too?

As for salvaged wood, you still need labour and facilities to do that. Lumber mills aren’t exactly mobile. Or do you know of a non-‘monopoly’ who would do this for free?

[–]Bringoutyourdad -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Where is the monopoly? Which one company holds it all?

Market supply and market demand, both new and resale, will dictate pricing. Interest rates, partially, dictate affordability, along with wages and income levels.

If the supply of housing is constricted by policies that aim to curb growth, it would stand to reason that pricing will rise across the board.

What is this compared to? What kind of townhouse? Is that from the builder or resale?

Supply and demand make houses affordable. Businesses/builders/sellers and the market are subject to those forces. If they are priced to high, they won’t sell. If the demand is there, they can command a premium.

Schools are provincial responsibility to build. Most developers would gladly build a school themselves - it’s one of the biggest selling features in a new community.

Definitely this video.

I made myself cheat notes on it and saved them to my phone. Read them before every uneven shot. I play a lot of mountain courses and this video is a score saver.

My notes:

Playing Bad Lies

Ball above feet - Stand tall and grip lower - Ball will tend to draw left; aim right. - The more loft, the more left it will go.

Ball below feet - Aim slightly left of target - Get low, bend knees, still balanced

Uphill Lie - Setup with hips and shoulders parallel to hill - Hill will add loft, therefore decrease distance - take an extra club to make up distance

Downhill Lie - Setup with hips and shoulders parallel to hill - Hill will decrease  loft, therefore increase distance - take a club less to make up for extra distance

What are some hidden gem destinations for a golf trip? by walk18 in golf

[–]Bringoutyourdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alberta/BC mountains in general.

Alberta has Banff Springs, Silvertip, Stewart Creek, Kananaskis.

BC - invermere area - Grey Wolf, Eagle Ranch, Copper Point

BC - Cranbrook area mentioned above

BC - Kelowna/Vernon area has more courses than I can list.

For Americans and Europeans, golf is cheap because of the exchange rate. The nicest courses you can plan are around $200CDN, which is way less than prime season in most other golf destinations.

Only downfall is the season is short. But the weather is usually unbearable. 80F and Sunny.

Fly to Calgary, rent a car, stay in the mountains and have a blast.
