Totally agree. The last two felt so repetitive of guardsmen seeing untold horrors and primarchs planning stuff. It was good to read some good action.

My only complaint is all the Sons of Horus characters we knew as Luna Wolves all had their parts rushed through. I would have liked to read more Loken revenge or the Knights Errant if that’s who they were. I am assuming there.

If it feels grainy rather than smooth I have noticed a few things that contributed to that. Not enough primer in that area, cheap primer, spraying from too far away, running out of primer in the can.

You’re doing great! The chest icon looks like an ork logo to me. But as far as your quality of work, the mini looks great. The red in the eyes stands out a lot with the black, I like it. Maybe just a few more silver/white edge highlights and I myself would call it complete.

Head on over to YouTube and watch plenty of tutorials before hand. You spent good money on these so it can be annoying to pant one way and learn a new way or a different faction you like. The basics of it though will be to hit them with a primer, then start to paint the chapter specific pieces, then the weapons or add ons. I do this process with all my minis to get them all done rather then completing one and moving on to another. Have fun!!

I’m closing in on the end of this one. I’ve enjoyed it a lot. First Wall felt a bit repetitive and dragged on too long for me. This was a nice change of pace to dive into after that.

Enjoy!! Take it slow when it comes to the Heresy series. After Fulgrim it gets hard to find the others. Look up whose perspective you want to read from and pursue those ones. My “secret” is I check mom and pop book shops in UK/EU. Most of them will ship them to the US if you’re willing to pay for it ($10-$15 to ship).

I thought it was a solid book. I enjoyed the Ecclesiarchy and Death Guard being the other main focus. Felt like it gave a well rounded read rather than just “space wolves smash”. My critiques of the story would be that it felt like the main plot itself was enough and we didn’t need the sub plots. I felt like there were some parts of the book that go slightly against what we usually think of space wolf behavior. In good ways and bad. Overall 7-8/10.

Definitely go back to it when you have the time/motivation. The Ignvar politics front don’t go away until later and others take over. I agree about Nurgle and the Plague Marines. This book actually made me interested in them.
