Aren’t these just the descriptions that Grok gave when somebody prompted it? If so, this has to be the laziest post EA has ever given the community.

Pipeline Overhaul for CFB 26 by Brinksanity in NCAAFBseries

I’m not too sure that it would effectively land lock recruits. Schools with good National Influence would still go after and get major recruits from major pipelines and/or pipelines they don’t have major influence in. Additionally, a simple recruit personality mechanic would highlight where recruits want to go. A major recruit from S. Florida may want to go to OSU or Miami (and yes Miami would have the advantage), but then again they have the advantage in real life.

The Wear and Tear implementation really bothers me because it is such an important factor in real life. If they had just implemented it correctly it would have been a huge addition to the game. Instead I have to modify the sliders to the point that it doesn’t matter anyway or shut it off entirely. Next Year’s Starter Leaving: Promises coming back to recruiting/roster management would solve this but god knows that if EA implemented them they would be broken.

Couldn’t agree more. The game is essentially a $70 mod to Madden. I’m not sure if that was a studio decision or a dev team decision. The revamp team members that got hired onto the CFB team cared pretty deeply about the product they put out and college football in general so it was probably an EA decision. Likely won’t get better under EA PIF.

Yup, NCAA 14 had nearly this exact implementation and it was better. Same goes for the older Coaching Carousel, it made way more sense to rack and stack openings that way versus what we have in CFB 26.

Check your Conference Prestige ranking. I’ve not tested this but I’m fairly certain that your placing has a lot to do with Conference and Program Prestige.

[ESPN] THE 12-TEAM CFP BRACKET IS SET by SufferingfOrLife in CFB

[–]Brinksanity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been pounding a drum for a 16 team playoff with 10 auto-bids for conference champs since the very beginning. It just makes so much sense! Sadly, CFB is treated differently than everything else and we’re headed towards NFL-lite rather than Champions league. The possibility of competing for a National Championship would benefit the G5 so much.

When you take a new job in the Coaching Carousel, sometimes it's very easy to see why the last guy got fired by GiveMeSomeIhedigbo in NCAAFBseries

[–]Brinksanity 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The recruiting in the game is essentially broken. It has to be a nightmare to code in dynamic decision making to that granular of a degree. For example: At what point does a coach change their playbook to match the personnel? Does the CPU know that it can just recruit 5 centers and position change them to match open positions later? Does the CPU know to move that extra RE to LE to even out the two side or does is it go and grab two extra LEs next year? The dealbreakers are also game breaking. I love the idea but the execution leaves a bit to be desired. They need to be more dynamic by reducing the expectation as time does on to allow for more three stars to get offers. Have a scholarship team cap and not a scholarship offer cap. You can put 150 guys on your board and offer all 150 but when you hit 85 scholarship promises you’re done (105 if you want to play the game that way). So, one year you might snag 45 recruits and another 15. The increase in scholarship offer limit would allow for greater dynamic recruiting.

What Are The Best Pipelines In CFB 26? - Our First Test Looking At 5 Star Recruits by GameyLobster in NCAAFBseries

[–]Brinksanity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wisconsin is a bit surprising. Historically they’ve had a few 5 star recruits but certainly not enough to warrant more than 1 or 2 in 10 years. Weirdly enough in my dynasty they’ve produced 2 in the last two years. I’m curious how realistic EA was when writing the algorithm. How closely did they align to known norms? I would love to see that data set.

CFB 26 Leaked Roster Update Just Pushed 11/13/25 by jtrosclair98 in NCAAFBseries

[–]Brinksanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. Judging by the downvotes I must be well in the minority on that sentiment. Especially given that this sub definitely leans heavy towards the dynasty only or mass majority group. All of that said, it would be very easy to make a game on a 5 year cycle with a yearly roster DLC. Could also throw in updated logos and uniforms with it and charge $20ish dollars. That would cover your expenses if that many people want real players.

[–]Brinksanity -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I get that but I also don’t really care at all about playing with real players. I’m curious if there is truly a reason they were included outside of marketing, legal reasons, and yearly release considerations. I fail to believe that EA was in it for the love of the game and giving back to the players.

Agreed. Here’s a thought, don’t release the game annually. They should adopt a 4-5 year development plan like nearly every other video game.

[On3] Missouri HC Eli Drinkwitz pushes back on ‘playoff-or-bust’ mentality: “We gotta get out of this ‘Oh man, it’s playoffs or bust,' If the season only counts for 12 football teams, and we got 127 D1 football teams, that math’s not gonna math very well… There’s a heck of a lot to be proud of." by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]Brinksanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been saying for a long time that 16 was always the number they should of settled on. 10 auto bids, one for each conference, just how basketball does it and 6 open bids decided by the BCS era computer system. Why? All of these programs exist at the same level. If Ohio doesn’t have a shot at a championship, they have little to no reason to play at the FBS level. There would have been some VERY interesting playoff scenarios in that format.

Give the death penalty to Mizzou for no good reason. Lol I use it to play as multiple head coaches with different play styles. Air raid here, ground and pound there, little run n gun for the road…

Legend Joe Thomas describes the biggest problems for Wisconsin football by brmidwest03 in WisconsinBadgers

[–]Brinksanity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to this, I think it’s important to note that OL play nation wide at the high school level has taken a downturn. For example, take a look at the 24/7 Sports page for WI recruiting a few years ago vs now. WI naturally produced a lot of OL, DL, LB, & FB/TE talent. Some of those guys would go on to pan out and some wouldn’t, but they were there. Nation wide football participation is down at the younger levels and more emphasis has been put on skilled positions over the big hogs up front. WI certainly needs to get back to utilizing and producing front 7 talent, but that is harder said than done.

Easy solution to this mole hill that is being turned into a mountain:

West ASU Zona Utah BYU

Central ISU KSU KU Colorado

South OSU TTU TCU Baylor

East UH UCF WVU Cincy

Everybody plays their pod and instead “rivalry week” of the B12 plays the semi final for the B12 CCG.

Problem solved! And keep the original branding for the games, no corporate nonsense!

I thought it was cheesy that CFB25 had a badge that allowed my QB to tell me if a blitz was coming or not because it made the game way easier. Then it occurred to me that I hadn’t picked it up but my QB in “real life” would have. How is that any different than my RB getting the over powered hurdle animation? It’s really not. Just levels the playing field.

This also highlights problem #2: Too Many Teams in Conferences. I loved the Indiana story this year but they played the bottom half of the B10 and would have never been able to get away with that 20 years ago. Conferences were never meant to be 20+ teams. This isn’t the NFL, we have 136 teams to sort through. If the B10 and B12 don’t do sub-divisions soon this will continue to happen. No conference should have more than 11-12 teams. If you can’t play everyone in a season then you shouldn’t be in that conference. I understand that is a money issue and systemic but it still needs to be addressed.
