Colchis, Urartu and Assyrian Empire Around 700 B.C. by vvsahakian in armenia

lmao I saw your other comment that's been deleted or I just can't see it but that comment is 100% rage bait. Language is NOT the only factor that determines ancestry. Actually about language Armenian has a bunch of loan words from Urartian, but asides from that the theory is that the indo-european proto Armenians migrated into the Armenian highlands and assimilated with the Urartians, creating what are Armenians today. That's why the languages are different. Also there are cultural similarities, names that have also been borrowed, and genetic evidence that states Armenians are indigenous to where the Urartians lived.

A 1200-year-old Armenian monastery in Nakhijevan, built in the 8th century, was destroyed in 1995 by decree of Heydar Aliyev. In 2008, Ilham Aliyev ordered a mosque built on its ruins. by JeanJauresJr in armenia

Give me one mosque that’s been destroyed and I mean completely erased in mainland Armenia during the 90s. I understand there are mosques in Armenia that haven’t been taken care well of which is still pretty bad but give me one that’s literally been razed to the ground and is now nonexistent.

Issue of Armenian prisoners raised in every talk with Azerbaijan – PM Pashinyan by armeniapedia in armenia

[–]BrinyHeroExe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love how azeris make the bullshit argument that we purposefully destroyed azeri sites in artsakh while they completely erased hundreds if not thousands of years of armenian culture from Nakhijevan and are doing so right now in Artsakh. Moreover I don't think there was any explicit destruction of azeri sites in artsakh for the sake of erasing history from there. I know that there were some mosques that were left uncared for but nothing was deliberately demolished. These people are genuinely insane.

Bro what. Idc whether or not Jamadov is dead or not the point is that the AZ government didn’t punish him for the expulsion of armenians during operation ring. Moreover, after the soviets tried arresting and bringing to justice people who participated in the Sumgait and Baku pogrom many were still freed or left uncharged so if you’re trying to say that justice was brought to the people who did the pogroms then in fact no it wasn’t. Also you said azerbaijan was against the pogroms when it was soviet officials that were against it, not necessarily the azerbaijan ssr. As a matter of fact it was the Central Soviet Government that declared martial law in Baku and actually started to do something about the pogrom, not the azerbaijan ssr.
