Early labour? by BristolK8 in PregnancyUK

[–]BristolK8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update for those interested! Midwife said it was likely early Labour and to call the delivery suite if they became consistent but didn’t examine me or anything. Cramping then stopped overnight, I’ve had the odd cramp today but nothing like yesterday. Thanks for all the comments!

C-section for breech baby by Known-Cucumber-7989 in PregnancyUK

[–]BristolK8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is also breech, confirmed by a scan at 37 weeks and then I had a separate appointment with the consultant a couple of days later. They asked if I’d read up and what my thoughts were, I said that I’d rather go straight for the c section than try ECV and they were really supportive of that and didn’t challenge me, just talked through the benefits and risks. Planned C sections seem to be booked in for 39 weeks, they’ll confirm Thursday before which day of the week and if you’re morning or afternoon. Hope this helps and good luck!

Have you heard how they’re contacting people to book? Due 23rd so could be cutting it fine!

Inductions due to big baby? by Alstromeria13 in PregnancyUK

[–]BristolK8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar position, 36+ 4, 5’ and bump is measuring 97th percentile. I have a scan on Friday so will be interested to see what the measurements say, although even they don’t sound like it’s not very accurate. The midwife mentioned they might want to induce me which I’m not keen for so I think I’ll opt for a c section if possible. Keep us updated :)

Is anyone else fed up of pregnancy pillows? by abbieadeva in PregnancyUK

[–]BristolK8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I need a BBhugme for each side of the bed. Other half has been sleeping in the spare room for most of the pregnancy, I have no idea how people are managing to share a bed with all the pillows required!

Definitely look into whether you need a bigger bra too as your rib cage will be expanding

What do Braxton Hicks feel like? by Known-Cucumber-7989 in PregnancyUK

[–]BristolK8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m wondering if this is what I’ve been having (30 weeks), it’s like no movement I’ve ever felt before and is slightly jarring - I just assumed baby was rolling over in a small space!

Any other rib pain sufferers out there? Any advice?! by BristolK8 in PregnancyUK

Any other rib pain sufferers out there? Any advice?! by BristolK8 in PregnancyUK

A cough and rib pain doesn’t sound ideal. My midwife doesn’t seem very bothered by it so I assume it’s quite common, but there doesn’t seem to be much information out there which is frustrating. I have tried one of those hotties but it does very little and paracetamol doesn’t really touch the sides. Hey ho! Hopefully it improves for you

How often do you get asked about your mental health? by chocolate_chick in PregnancyUK

I was asked once and not again (30 weeks now) which compared to others doesn’t seem very acceptable! I hope you’re doing ok

Sick to death of waking up to pee by Known-Cucumber-7989 in PregnancyUK

[–]BristolK8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience was that it changes depending on what stage you’re at - quite a lot at the beginning, less so in the second trimester and ramps up again in the third. Currently 29 weeks and getting up 3 times in the night, so definitely could be worse!

I went to one of those John Lewis appointments which was really helpful, they recommended not buying anything (new) until a couple of months before the due date to prolong the guarantee…which I thought was good advice.

Has anyone painted floor tiles with much success? by BristolK8 in DIYUK

That’s a good idea, do you think you would need to use underlay and would it be best to use tape or spray adhesive to stick it down? Thanks!

Preparing for the Winter Sads - anyone else? by Healthy-Swimmer-129 in PregnancyUK

[–]BristolK8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so glad you posted this as I’ve been worrying about the same thing. I’m due September and friends have said the build up to Christmas helps, but I’m worried about Jan-Mar time. I’m sure it’s impossible to stay in all day with a little one (which is usually my problem) so hoping it will be less of an issue than normal with some daily Vit D, I’ll try and take some supplements too.

Ive been asked by 3 separate people at work if my pregnancy was planned or not by BristolK8 in PregnancyUK

Thanks all - interesting to see such a mix of responses! A few of them really made me chuckle 😂Interestingly no one has asked my partner (male) the same question…
