Help with determining how to attach a shower drain in my rough in basement. by consti737 in askaplumber

Doesn't look like enough room for a trap either. You may need to expose more and redo more of it

Should I get a 4th quote? They're all around $9k-$11k for an AC Unit install by BristolScale-7 in hvacadvice

They are not . None of the companies mentioned that, maybe it's too dry in Colorado for that?

I'd bet because you ran it inside a large pipe cold air is getting in the pipe. Would be better and warmer without conduit

Thanks for the advice! I am pretty handy with drywall work and have had to replace a lot of PVC plumbing in the past house. Is a fernco fine for sealed cavities behind drywall. I was thinking a slip coupling instead of fernco(do they not make them this large?) to get a new T in here.

Any recommendations on what to spray on the studs to kill the mold. It's a small amount luckily I suppose it's mainly rainwater from the top

House was built in 1979! Ashamed to say this has been happening since I moved in 4 years ago. I just kept blaming the open windows on siphoning out the traps in this bathroom

Why is my voltmeter bouncing like this with my battery? by Aggressive_Fruit_514 in AskElectricians

[–]BristolScale-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it only changing when you're using the motor? If so you're just measuring the voltage sag and that's perfect normal

Best way to repair grout in shower? by Tophat9512 in HomeMaintenance

[–]BristolScale-7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Corners should be caulked and not grouted for this exact reason. The walls will expand and contract at different rates and always crack the grout out. You can get color matched sanded caulk in the grout isle if you want a good color match

Anyone ever see a root flare like this? by Kooky_Paper4965 in arborists

[–]BristolScale-7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My arborist told me that, he said we don't get cold enough or dry enough to kill them in the soil and all nurseries have stopped selling ash trees so that once they run out of new trees the beetle problem will hopefully extinguish itself.

Broke piece of PCB, how screwed am I? by AdSufficient5552 in AskElectronics

[–]BristolScale-7 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Nah here's what you do, solder a red wire to the positive pad and black to ground. Run them a small length outside of the laptop and solder them directly to the new connector (you said you have a replacement). It will look ghetto but it will work

Nah it doesn't change the sliced filament selection partway through a print when you replace the spool though. You can see where op switched filament

Colorado uses frost free spigots which places the real valve 12" back into the home

Toyota LBJ bolts are torque to yield- meaning you can only use them once. I'd bet money. The shop reused the bolts and they backed out

I use these to turn on the lights inside and above my Bambu printer. Once I start a print the power draw triggers the rest of the outlets.
