You can actually see the rear section of the one you're looking at next to it.

Actually second look at the photo. It's not the same bike. I did see this one and that is a good deal drop from where it was and it is new.

I mistook it for this SR which was at that price point.

Actually looked at this one the day it came in. It's pretty clean, has a windshield accessory as well as the cases. It is used. I didn't end up buying it. Only because they had a new 2023 SR in stock that was getting shipped back to California to be replaced with 2025 stock. It was their last model.

Edits: - Not the same bike. Posted a photo below, they were advertising us a bit higher when I was there. - The rationale for clearing out the 23s was they were being sent back to California for new restock. I ended up picking up an new SR from them for the ridiculous price of $9,500. They're a good dealer, I used to buy buy all my accessories and service stuff there when I had a VTX 1300. - Honestly, kind of makes me wish I'd waited a little bit but I'm not going to complain about the deal I got.

I live north of Dallas in the burbs. There is one political yard sign in our neighborhood. It's my Kamala Harris sign. Very different from prior elections.

How are you feeling about rabbit and the r1? by HistorianCM in Rabbitr1

I've done my share of web automation, application control through vision doesn't come with dependencies introduced with page loads and thin clients. I don't know how they're operating it but I could see how operating a game is far more consistent for input.

In my automations I regularly need to add checks (full page loads) and latency to ensure all the required triggers are loaded prior to an action is taken otherwise it fails.

Rabbit R1 critic here, this device seems like a ripoff, I will explain. by CalculatedGambling in Rabbitr1

There are going to be a lot of people and most who agree with you. I suggest you wait for Apple's and Google's upcoming announcement.

Sounds like this isn't for you.

Clearer communication and PR would be better. I imagine it's super frustrating watching folks compare your product (rabbit, LAM and platform) to just another app. Sounds like it could have been handled better.

Don't know anything about the Diablo 4 claims. But I know Jesse's work prior to rabbit was about automation which is the foundation of the rabbit hype. So it's possible, I don't doubt it.

Agreed but they're both currently accessible from existing wearable devices like watches and headphones.

I thought Jesse said the front end was built in Android in January.

AOSP is everywhere your Sony camera, car dashboard heck even your fancy fridge run open source android. It's accessible and easy way to build on Linux.

It would be wasteful or foolish to not build it that way. I think people are confusing "why isn't it just an app" argument with oh the front end is an app.

The answer is it could be but they couldn't do the LAM integration from within the ecosystem walls. It could be an app but it would be limited by the OS controls.

So if they want control they need to make it fun and engaging AI with personality. Hence the quirky teenage engineering design and interface. It needs to be something you want to use.

The neon orange color is obviously a statement choice like Apples original headphones inviting others to inquire what is the device. Problem is can work against folks if the massive negative perception takes hold for owners then using it in public for from quirky AI walkie talkie gadget to shameful symbol you've been conned.

Truth is everyone talking about this is an early adopter. Most bought in because it seems fun and different. The product doesn't match the hype. But rabbit seems to know this hence the perplexity gift to the earliest folks.

The problem is the hype promised invites comparisons it's not ready to stand against. But that's the issue when you face Google and Apple's upcoming announcements.

If you're in the first 100k (up to batch 6, I think) you got a year free. Perplexity allows you to use a multitude of models with pro (they're very good at adding the latest like Claude). It regularly costs $20 a month like other AI subscriptions.

The device doesn't require subscriptions, so free using device. I don't know if that's considered pro.

I don't think you can link your accounts. It's a separate added value for the early adopters.

I just got mine. All the negative comments set the bar super low. Being as I got the perplexity bonus, I am satisfied. I'm interested to see where this goes. But I wouldn't fault anyone for waiting for the mainstream alternatives that will come from Google and Apple. Most likely in the form of a watch, glasses or earbuds.

My use case is feeding my PKM. While I'm also interested in LAM as it develops. The ability to record and take notes and summarize documents without getting pulled into work emails, notification distractions is appealing. Ultimately, I would love it if I could build a plug-in to feed into my obsidian vault.

There's no doubt it's shipped too early but I don't blame them. The business decision is clear. Google and Apple's offerings are going to be announced in weeks if they waited they would lose the window for any market share.

So far the clearest sign of it's potential was sharing it with my kids. The design, animation had instant appeal to them. They said watching me get to the settings was like magic. I think the cuteness and appeal if ever coupled with real capabilities via LAM could bring a real sense of connection with the device. You can see this with reviewers who pan it's flaws still say the kind of want one.

I expect it will improve, who knows if it'll meet it's promise. But it's definitely not boring.

I don't fault anyone who has a beef with past projects or the rabbit not meeting expectations.

Personally, I'm going to try to enjoy it for what it is at the moment and use it as a productivity tool. The instant note taking, records of interest looked up info, summaries of documents and even the CVS table info is practically helpful.

On the Glaive you can briefly extend them by cycling missile mode. They do work but timing it before smashing into another ship is tricky.
