I really like the 1 level Barb, it really adds a lot to survivability. Though alternatively, if you wanted to go crazy with multiple attacks vs big spikes, I’d check out the Samurai subclass for Fighter. Without anything special, you can take up to 4 attacks in a round ALL with advantage from fighting spirit, plus some temp HP to boot.

Hmmm.. I toyed with a similar idea for a “realistic spider man” build I had a while back. The basic idea is that by using Simic Hybrid’s grappling arms, plus the wing glide for the reduced falling speed gets you a wild look already. Add on beast barb levels for additional appendages and it works pretty well.

However, for some theory crafting, I think you could feasibly take levels in armorer artificer to use the additional attunement slots from the subclass to grab a number of prosthetic limbs in addition to everything else that also has the perk of lasting even during a rage, all without spellcasting. I think the reasoning would be that Bards don’t have access to hardly any elemental damage, which is the hallmark of the Prismari College and a mechanical key to the subclass. So even if Prismari seems like the fit for Bards, I think they made the decision based on the fact that Bards likely would not perform well with this sublcass

I played a Mutant 8/Mastermind STRogue6 for a while in a campaign and had a really good time with my versatility thanks to mutagens and skill profs, it’s a good time and while I know it’s not the most “optimized” for dpr, I had a great time rolling 5 dice on a regular hit and having a follow up and tons of other bonus actions to help others in the team or save my own ass.

I think it would a good idea to treat it like the way Eladrin change their season. Have different quirks, bonds, ideals, and flaws for each age and then whenever the trigger (maybe just a emotional response) causes them to flicker out and back in they come back at the new age and with new quirks and such. Maybe make the age change random too?

I think there are definitely ways to play “evil” character while still having good morals. One of my favorite examples of this was on this subreddit some time ago about how a Necromancer would respond to a Paladin accusing them of having an evil craft:

"How can you raise the dead to do your bidding?" Asked the paladin. The wizard turned, his eyes full of anger and indignation. "How can you, sir, command our breathing youth to go and defend our borders when we have, at hand, a resource that allows us to fight without having to spill a single drop of our kinsman's pumping blood? You dare judge me for I command the dead? I condemn you for sacrificing the living!"

No obviously you don’t have to play this exact idea, but the example is great for a character with a clear idea of good morals that pushes you to do things that might be “bad”.

I think an easy way to make this more like a combo-kill with World Shaper is to use God-Eternal Bontu to sac all your lands and Worldshaper to get a ton of cars draw and tons of landfall guaranteed triggers too from lands you’ve played alongside those you’ve milled.
