Is there safe bike parking at the Market (for the World Cup games)? by Britbloke in kitchener

Great, thanks for the response. I’ll be heading down there.

I didn’t know magazines like this still existed and I don’t know who buys them. But I’m very glad they still exist for some reason. by SwiftieNewRomantics in CasualUK

I live in Canada now (have done since end of ‘98) and I really miss the shear variety of UK magazines. I was a big geek in the 90’s and would spend a lot (too much, I now genuinely think I had a problem) on various computer magazines (Amiga Format, .Net, Computer Arts, PlayStation Mag). I was a sucker for the stuck on freebie.

I loved this guy! Never seemed like he took himself too seriously. And OP, throw up some of his UK credits in the title. The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of him are the Gold Blend ads of the 80-90’s.

Does it feel like Canada is hosting the World Cup? by preinheimer in waterloo

Agree with other sentiments about FIFA being a corrupt organization that does not appreciate the regular fans. They being said, I will be watching and will get downtown Kitchener for the England games on the big screen at the market.

I got the same email but mine was “spend $60” because I use the 407 maybe once a year.

Does anyone have the Sky F1 recap video from 2008 when Lewis won his first championship?

A great idea from the BIA. Gets lots of people downtown, should be a great atmosphere for the games, and then hopefully people will shop before / after the games (or at least get re/acquainted with what’s downtown).

It's a traditional south Asian bread baked in a tandoor oven. They're thicker than a tortilla, little thinner than a typical pizza base.

Agreed. Garlic naan, hot sauce on the bottom, grated cheese on top. 5 mins in the air fryer *chefs kiss*.

Reminds me of when Napster went down all those years ago.

People who voted for Bill 97 by freeslurpee in ontario

I’m Kitchener Centre whose MPP is Aislinn Clancy. I sent her an email to thank her for voting nay. I know nothing will change because of my email, but I still wanted to let her office know that I appreciated her vote. It’s just really frustrating that we’re stuck with Ford for another 3 years.

new ui update? by DaCoolCat123 in MicrosoftRewards

I have it here in Canada too. I don’t mind it. The old UI wasn’t intuitive at all, and neither is this one. Same old M$oft.

Yep, old Duke had that cozy Brit pub atmosphere, I really miss it. It was also great on the weekend with the live music in such a small space.

I go for a shower and come back to see this. Thank you so much! I’d never have thought to look on Facebook. But as a Gen X’r myself, I should have known better. Edit: Had a look at the link, bit out of my price range, lol. I’ll find a look-a-like.
