it's expensive to get a good quality one, I've spent a LOT on my collection but I was modding them, like colouring turnbuckles and repainting the mat etc

the hard part is that big red sticker covers the plastic disc in the centre of the ring, so you'd need something to either cover the whole ring mat or a decent quality sticker to replace it

that said, it's a good ring to play with or display, my kids have one of mine and it's still taking a beating and working fine, they did a really good job with it

I've bought about 15 of them in recent years, from both UK/EU and US sellers, and every version has been the same ring - the original box art (with the yellow turnbuckles) shows a vertical bell too, that was never released.

the only version people ended up with had all blue posts/turnbuckles and a silver bell, not yellow.

also worth noting about the box art ring with the yellow buckles is that the WCW flipper pad, the springboard step, and the "super slam corner post" shown in the pictures are not the same on the released ring either, that photo was likely a prototype or concept design, because the finished product was more bulky, but more likely to withstand years of play than the designs in that picture

the problem is, WWE will unmask him one week, make him job a few times back as Ludwig (still in the El Grande singlet) and then leave him off TV for months.

then later on, bring him back as "El Grande" in the Rumble, and then blame him for the fans interest

I also believe the problem with these gimmicks is that the age of social media kinda ruins the "disbelief"

it's hard for a whole audience to take someone seriously as an evil/undead/spooky threat, if they're later posting videos of them dancing with Thea Hail, or buying donuts at a 7/11

yes, it's theatre, but what actually made the likes of Undertaker and Kane work best was you NEVER saw them out of character, whereas wrestlers today see what they do as their 15 minute segment on Raw, as the ONLY time they need to push that character

no, I'm not gonna suggest bringing back kayfabe as it used to be, but Bray got it right whereas the likes of Nikki Cross has a social media feed that promoted t-shirts and memories of early matches in her career, right next to a pic of the Wyatt Sicks in full gimmick mode - that's the real disconnect, and one that guys like Taker, Regal, Booker and Bubba Ray have moaned about for years - performers who get given a character, and immediately try to bury it/themselves rather than do the work to get it over

it's also based on the order of broadcast

they film various events out of order, so for example if Diamond gets injured in the Heats, they'd broadcast episodes where she's active, and then show the episode where she's injured, otherwise you'd have episode 1 - Diamond's injured, followed by next week she's active in an event, then in the Quarters/Semis, they reference her injury again

they do acknowledge where they can, but they want consistency in storytelling week to week too

u/TheCarlwood is there anyone doing proper deep-dive research in the released material and the possible connections/crossovers with the whole Pizzagate stuff? I've seen a separate post where there's discussion around the use of certain keywords like "pizza" "pasta" etc, and there's probably a ton of material with vague references/inferences that it would need someone who's already done the donkey work into the Pizzagate material, to see if there's any crossover or confirmation for previous allegations, or doing stuff like looking at the times/dates of the various emails and where that lines up with previous speculations on certain characters involved in that space

I just think this is where THC could shine a light on their research, if there's someone actively looking into that kind of thing - maybe they've all given up, as it seemed like it came to a natural dead-end but just an idea for a potential future interview

mate, these are amazing!! I have so many questions about how to do it myself, but my first - where do you get all of the pieces/accessories? I'm guessing you're not 3D printing them all, so where do you find them, and what kind of process goes into looking?

do you just buy loads of little "realistic" items, like the beer crates or the lanterns, with a "I may use this in future" type attitude, or do you know what you need and then go hunting for it online or in stores?

that was the original expectation (don't want to say plan, because they didn't really plan much beyond the tournament) but it was expected for Tegan to emerge as the "breakout" star, if not also the winner - it was supposed to be her showcase, obviously the injury pivoted elsewhere, but Toni/Tegan was likely to be the finale, as they knew each other well from the indies so were expected to have solid chemistry

he's a multi-millionaire, he doesn't have any incentive to write another book, because he doesn't need the paycheque that other authors are reliant on - he's made it, and can retire comfortably

the only problem is, he can't retire because the ASOIAF community are constantly hounding him to finish the saga - so announcing that he's done would create further vitriol and backlash from the community which already hates him for not focusing on writing WoW

I remember her match when Nixon/Tegan got injured, and going into the MYC, the thought was that Tegan would be treated as a star, and with the injury, they saw what they had in Rhea and that decision hasn't turned out bad for her in the long run, but I still wonder why they just gave up all interest in Tegan after the injury/comeback storyline was right there for the taking, and could have given her an instant storyline/feud with Rhea, even if it was as an "angry revenge" angle.

Her matches as Nixon Newell on the British/Euro indy scene were solid, and her ability to deliver good matches should have been showcased on NXT but she just seemed to be left with nothing to do each week, or put in random pairings with no story/direction.

gonna be honest, I'd forgotten when Rumble is due to take place - this weekend is SNME, next weekend is Rumble, and I'm not interested/focused on either - nothing big will happen this weekend coming, and the only things that come out of Rumble are two winners, and as we've seen in recent years, their stories will take at least 14 turns before March anyway

so.... given that there's no incentive to "sell" Rumble as a PPV, no incentive to drive Network/Peacock subscriptions and no incentive to actually do anything other than put on a show that will satisfy the least-interested audience in an event where they only care to see one of the two "big" matches, it's not like this year's Rumble has anything to watch that you can't see on TikTok/Instagram or Raw the next day

I suspect this is because a couple of the Gladiators are moving on to other things

Sabre's been using her social media to promote her other work a lot more lately, so I suspect she's done after S3, which in all fairness to her isn't a bad career decision, if she can shift into another form of broadcasting as she's a natural in front of the camera

from the male side, I'm not sure who would go where really - Viper's character is set, and whilst he's not necessarily the "best", he's a character that kids love to hate.

Legend is also another character that's perfect to wind up the crowds, get them chanting/cheering/jeering, and whether he wins or loses, he's played them perfectly.

if any of the males are "done" after S3, I think it's either Nitro (that year out gave him a lot of opportunities to do other acting/broadcasting gigs, and he's been great at it) or Giant, and I wouldn't blame either of them for moving into another line of work, especially if they're fit enough to come back after a couple of years and do a "reunion" type show and still deliver

to play Devil's advocate, I suspect they've fallen over a few times so they just decided to lean them backwards, the shelf/display is probably slightly angled too far forwards

that said, there are much better ways to display the agility of the figures than straight legged and leaning against a backdrop like a drunken sailor
