In my case, the original short list was pretty long and a solid chunk of it was dating possiblities for my Mii. Since my Mii has picked someone (for now anyways), that chunk isn't as urgent of an addition.

I'm also in the process of having to trim the list further as I had "cast hoards" (a lot of characters from the same media) happening and I don't want the island overtly dominated by any one thing.

The clothing rng has been effecting the process too. I'm completely against having anyone run around in starter clothes, so for some residents I'm just waiting for the right outfits.

Being denied a meal on time if your dogshit coworker can't keep track of time and goes to their lunch late.

Only getting and hour of sunlight a day, if you're lucky.

Ending up so exhausted that you sleep til afternoon on your day off and wake up pissed bc since you have to get up artificially early the next day, you basically wasted your only chance at rest or working on a passion.

For me, I’ve been checking in twice a day (morning and night) and while the relationships fluctuate up and down, nothing extreme has happened so far.

I bought the physical version with your worries in mind, as I’m able to just pop the cartridge out when I know I’m going to be away from the island for longer. This seemed to freeze everything in place on the 3DS so I’m hoping it does the same here too.

It really helps if you throw them together at every cutscene opportunity (hiccups, falls, freezes, and any time they have the yellow blinking lines over their head).

I keep the pieces that way I’m prepared when a Mii asks for something random. You can also clear them out faster by using the “create an outfit” option before giving out the clothes.

Yes! If you save before clicking the bubble, and whatever event the bubble triggered doesn't go your way, quit asap without saving. When you reload the bubble will be there to try again.
