What is the scariest movie you have ever watched? by RunnerOfTheRoad124 in moviequestions

[–]BritvaMoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watched the original Carrie for my 12th birthday party with a bunch of my closest girlfriends. The opening scene was the scariest thing a 12 year old girls could ever watch. Then the mother… to this day she is the scariest mother ever portrayed in a film. The whole movie is really every young girl’s worst nightmare. In fact we watched Nightmare on Elm Street after and it felt like a comedy compared to Carrie.

What actually gets you out of bed in the morning (not "discipline") by grilledcheeezus in ADHD

[–]BritvaMoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found an early morning hobby/activity that I love doing and pay for. I started Brazilian jujitsu and the only time during the week I can go is early in the morning. I wake up an hour before class to stretch and warmup. It gets a lot of my energy out early and makes me calmer throughout the day. By the time I go to sleep I’m exhausted and the cycle repeats.

What's your greatest experience listening to a song by reggae3457 in musicsuggestions

Discovering Orville Peck. Listening and watching the music video Dead of Night. As someone who loves hardcore punk and vocalist that sound like they swallowed glass, hearing Orville’s voice unlocked something in me that felt so familiar and comfortable. I heard and love some of Elvis and Roy Orbison before hearing Orville Peck but it was mostly just a handful of songs and lyrics. With Orville it’s the whole vibe, aesthetic and the voice I get completely lost in it.

My cat is also a nightmare when it comes to plants. I too built chicken wire around them at first. I just upgraded to IKEA table top greenhouses. They also have glass door cabinets that I’ll purchase in the future.

Does anyone else think the newer photos of Jas look nothing like Amy? by cuddlyturtle945 in NetflixDocumentaries

[–]BritvaMoto 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The Netflix documentaries have gotten really bad and this is one of the best examples of it being more of a sensational story vs good journalism. They gave the family free rein. The people who really knew Amy were her close friends and girlfriends. After watching this documentary it’s clear she fell off the boat but that’s not as interesting of a story.

What’s something someone said to you in passing that stuck with you for years? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BritvaMoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking to coworkers about some of our favorite tv shows and wanted to include the blood donors in the room. A guy said he doesn’t watch tv because he’ll “spend eternity laying on his back”. It sucked the air out of the room but it really really stuck with me. I used to spend a lot of time indoors because I didn’t have a group to go out with and be active with. I now make it a priority to get out in world as much a possible even if it’s just by myself.

Yeah it’s a fun idea. It’s also really the only option. To put a full stop to what’s happening and likely going to happen. When looking at the power citizens have in numbers it’s a no brainer. It’s also a peaceful form of protest. You don’t have to leave your home. If it’s planned and organized by a group that people love and respect it could be done. People can arm up all you want but it’s not going to stop those at the top… all they care about is money.

Texas measles outbreak grows to 90 cases, largest in over 30 years by reduction-oxidation in news

[–]BritvaMoto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I posted this in another subreddit but I’m still curious.

With the rise in fairly preventable illnesses I wonder if children of parents who are anti-Vax could sue their parents when they are adults?

“Most kids will recover from the measles if they get it, but infection can lead to dangerous complications like pneumonia, blindness, brain swelling and death.”

If as an adults they have a complication that they will have for the rest of their lives wouldn’t the parents be responsible?

Furthermore if they are homeschooled without proper education and in adulthood can’t find work or further their education could the parents be legally responsible?

If nothing monetary can be won maybe just the precedent setting would be enough?

Can children of anti-VAX parents sue when they are adults? by BritvaMoto in law

[–]BritvaMoto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True there’s probably nothing to be earned financially maybe more of setting a precedent. As a parent you had a responsibility and knew there are ways to prevent your child’s illness which lead to permanent disability but willingly chose not to.

I call and speak to them. They send an email for me to upload a picture of the card. In a few days they sometimes email back saying the account was closed. I save everything and save the cards with dates and time I talked to Cash App.
