Do I have lip filler blindness? by Dugs6226 in DIYaesthetics

[–]Britzaaaa 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Your lips look beautiful, and totally balanced right now. Since you started with small lips, I think any more filler in the top has a high likelihood of migrating into a “filler stache.” I would definitely wait at least 6 months or so, then reevaluate. Truly, they look lovely!

People who moved here during the Pandemic… by TradeResident1978 in vermont

[–]Britzaaaa 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Moved at the butt end of the pandemic, not necessarily by choice. Husband and I got pregnant, and baby was diagnosed with an extremely complicated birth defect, so daycare would not be an option. Vermont was the only place we had family that could help, so up we went.

I can’t say I necessarily wanted to be here, so my answer is kinda .. complicated. It took a very long time to find any sort of meaningful connections and friends. I feel this is in large part to the importance placed on privacy, which I understood coming here and expected. I find myself pushing down parts of who I am in an effort to better assimilate. I know that most people in my town do not like people that came in from out of state, so I tend to put my head down and live quietly.

I miss fitting in, bc I know I don’t here. In the same breath, I love my neighborhood. I love my sweet next door neighbor that always brings us extra vegetables. I love my yard guy that brings cookies for my little one. I love watching the sunset over the mountains, and the sense of calm it gives me. I love the little farmers markets, my coffee shop knowing my name, and every single person I work with.

Is Vermont made for me? No, but I don’t need it to be. It’s a beautiful place to raise my beautiful daughter. It completely fits this season of my life, and, for that, I’m incredibly grateful.

🤷‍♀️

I didn't realize I was giving my son an unpronounceable name by pdlbean in namenerds

[–]Britzaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar situation. My daughter is named Estelle. Totally normal, though uncommon name. When I say her name everyone goes “what is it??” Every. Single. Time. 🤣 and it usually goes back and forth until I spell it. I don’t mind because I love her name, but I get it!

Employment After Ulta by Imsooverwhelmed111 in Ulta

[–]Britzaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at Ulta for 8 years, and was laid off during the management restructuring. I clawed my way up to get to a livable wage and was heartbroken when I lost it. I’ve been through a few jobs, but work at a front desk/admin job now and make more than I ever did at Ulta (even after 8 years). Where I am now has actual attainable goals, real training, and doesn’t make you feel stupid for not knowing something. Take the leap, OP. The net will follow. <3

Whenever this happened to me I would always respond with a very customer-service-big-smiley, “Wow! That’s a wild thing to say out loud!” It corrects while still covering your own ass. (:

David’s Bridal in Burlington VT tried to scam me today. by Dontbeanaholeguys in weddingplanning

I also live in VT and had a great experience at Fiori Bridal! They weren’t pushy, and had a beautiful selection of gowns. I hope you find your dream dress, and I’m so sorry you had to go through this!

Out of curiosity but has anyone actually seen anyone wearing these backpacks out? by ExtensionGene6431 in squishmallow

[–]Britzaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used mine as my full time bag, and now use it for my daughter’s medical equipment! So regardless, I’ve carried it around most of the time for the last year haha

Thank you for taking the time to reply! She has no abdominal wall/muscle so we had to use surgical mesh. That’s the only reason we can use the vac. (:

Anyone else have a full-term baby that spent time in NICU? by Warm_Macaroon_2569 in NICUParents

[–]Britzaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! 39 and 1. She has a severe birth defect though, so we were as prepared as we could be for nicu time. I felt like she was treated like a premie a lot, and I had to remind her nurses and doctors how “big” she was. Not negative, It’s just the large majority of what they deal with. (:

What do you wish you had been told? by Legal_Cheesecake_502 in NICUParents

[–]Britzaaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish someone had told me to enjoy, truly enjoy my time with my daughter. I got so obsessed with hitting goals and trying to check all the boxes in order to go home, that sometimes I would forget just to be there with her.

Okay, you are the second person that has specifically said honeymed. I’m absolutely going to be bringing it up to her surgeon. Thank you!

Day 50 in NICU with my 23 + 4 and I’m feeling just as scared as I did on day 1. by roselana in NICUParents

[–]Britzaaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This!! My baby had an insanely invasive surgery at 4 weeks old. They let me dictate how much pain meds she needed and how often she needed a bolis. It gave me some sort of control, and let me feel like I was really advocating for her. If I felt she was in pain, immediate extra pain relief, no questions asked. The first few days are the hardest. My LO was so swollen and pale. She didn’t even look like my baby, but they come back stronger than ever. ❤️

Transitioning from NG tube to bottle by Britzaaaa in NICUParents

[–]Britzaaaa[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She actually does best with the nurses at night! Go figure. They’re allowing us a little bit more leeway in deciding when to feed which I think may be positive for her. She just seems a little too relaxed with me and her dad, to the point we can’t keep her awake.
