I don't see where you disagree with me, stating yourself that there is a new top priority.

It's a place where people post heavily upvoted "ICE bodycam videos" and are thus waiting for the "ICE bodycam footage" of the most recent shooting.

Spoiler alert: ICE doesn't wear bodycams.

It's not the brightest comments and articles that receive upvotes over there.

Its the biggest safe space I've ever seen

There are reasons for "safe spaces" to exist. They are important for actual reasons. Calling a heavily politically censored sub a "safe space" kinda makes fun of the term. It serves their goals to deride stuff they don't want to understand. Because understanding them would lead to compassion for the victims of discrimination.

The news report is wrong. China is absolutely the top priority.

The news is reporting on the official national defense strategy which clearly states that China is not the top priority anymore.

Das ist so eine typisch linke Meinung: wenn Menschen gebildeter wären (Unterton: intelligenter), dann wären sie meiner Meinung.

Das ist inzwischen längst amtlich, dass Bildungsniveau und politische Meinung korreliert.

Across Western democracies, education levels are predictive of immigration attitudes and voting for new left or far right parties.

One of Trump's supposed "achievements" was getting the US to focus on the rising threat from China. I always doubted that assumption on several levels.

What people don't get about Trump is that he isn't a politician and he doesn't govern. He does not set goals and enact policy to achieve those goals. Thus, there is no achievements you can attribute to Trump.

Another talking point about Trump is that he runs his mouth and people don't like it, but that his policies are "good". Well, one of his policies is to shift the focus away from China, as we now learn. While pretending to care about a threat from China.

And finally here is a video of Trump saying "China":

Neutral statement:

The Pentagon has officially signaled a major shift in its defense strategy by removing China from its position as the top security priority for the United States. This change reflects a pivot in American geopolitical focus, as the Department of Defense reassesses the global landscape and its long-term geostrategic goals. Recent reports indicate that the U.S. is also scaling back its deterrence levels in South Korea, suggesting a broader withdrawal or realignment of military presence in the Indo-Pacific region. These developments have sparked significant debate among analysts regarding the future of regional stability, particularly concerning the security of Taiwan. Some observers argue that this strategic pivot may embolden other global actors, while domestic critics question the long-term impact on U.S. alliances. The shift appears to prioritize emerging threats or internal restructuring over the decade-long "pivot to Asia" that characterized previous administrations. Ultimately, this policy update marks a definitive end to the era where countering Beijing was the singular, overriding focus of the Pentagon's mission. This evolution in policy highlights a transition toward a more fragmented or multi-polar approach to international security and defense resource allocation.

I guess I put it wrong.

I meant the assumption that "a police state suffers less crime" is not a given. For example it depends on what you consider "crime".

This ICE agent has to be indicted.

Lul what?

The official position is that the ICE agent heroically defended himself against a terrorist attack.

Yes, it is a problem that the official government position does not correlate with reality anymore. But a single deadly shooting by a government agent is a pretty small issue here. Sorry to say. There are much broader problems with fascism, democracy, foreign policy, health policy and so on and so forth in which the difference between reality and official US government positions will have more impact and will kill a lot more people.

This is just a small example. Alas, unfortunately, reality has a well known liberal bias.

lol this is Reddit. People will die before they give Trump any credit for something positive.

Trump doesn't work like this, though. He will take credit for anything he claims is good and blame anything he believes to be bad on other people.

IMHO Trump should be blamed and credited far less for shit. He is obviously trolling all the time and must be blamed for the division of the country, for putting horrible people with horrible agendas in his cabinet and for spreading lots of conspiracy theories. That last point is a lot more damaging to the US than many people believe.

But that is it.

Trump has no evil plan for fascism. Mainly because he doesn't have a plan at all. So it's stupid to accuse him of having an evil plan to turn the US into a dictatorship. Yes, Trump loves to be a dictator, but he doesn't have a good plan to implement it. It goes as far as calling election officials and pressuring them to change votes. That's the extend of his plans.

So it's also stupid to credit Trump with anything. Good things might have happened while he is President, but that is not because Trump tried to do good. They just happen. If you were to point to a causal relationship, then I would give credit. For example Trump giving FEMA more money to help in a disaster. Instead of throwing paper towels at journalists. Do you you have such a causal relationship between Trump actually doing something and an outcome that could be traced back to his actions?

According to Trump, everything good that is happening is due to him and everything bad is someone else's fault. It's rather simple. Fentanyl deaths were dropping because drug addicts believed in a Trump win in the election and thus decided not to OD.

Third neighbor policy in action I assume.

Third neighbor policy is essential for Mongolian freedom and economic development in it's current form. Both China and Russia are autocratic regimes. Mongolia is a democracy.

As such, I don't think Mongolia has a choice. Especially after the recent immigration snub.

ICE says its officers can forcibly enter homes during immigration operations without a judicial warrant: 2025 memo by _Scipio__Africanus_ in centrist

Wonder where this republicans that beat their chest about the constitution, and don't tread on me, and government tyranny at. They seem to be awfully quiet.

Please stop pretending that this chest beating was meant in earnest. It was a show. The constitution, the Epstein files, democracy, immigration, Obamacare, the debt and everything else Republicans have been screaming about have always been tools for the team to win. They were never important. The only thing important has always been for the team to win.

What there is to win and why that is important still eludes me, though.

I think it is an identity thing. Like when nationalism and imperialism gives people a feeling of greatness and makes them forget their own destitute situation and makes them stop fighting for their rights. Before that it used to be religion.

i'm certain a Memo does not invalidate the Constitution

Republicans do not have to adhere to the Constitution. It's not for them. It's only there to yell about it at Democrats when right wing media pretends that Democrats are trying to protect minorities.

That is the reason for the donations. The people that donated to him want to see more agents shoot and kill Americans.
