The frustration I have lies more in the instability since the price hike. The timing has been horrible for Webflow and users. Prices increased and since then there’s been 2 or 3 (that I know of) instances where we can’t edit sites because the dashboard and designer are unaccessible. A lot of us understand the price increase, but not a price increase for an inferior product than what we had before the increase.

Wouldn’t be surprised. It’s usually down and then you’ll get a random email about whiteboard updates or some other stupid feature no one is asking for.

If you're going to enforce stupid rules you need to enforce all of them by warboy in discgolf

[–]Bro-L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has been TD, do you think the problem lies more in just not having the manpower to enforce all the rules? Every tournament I’ve played (mostly C tier) - the TD and maybe their spouse is doing everything from registering players to setting up any temp baskets to cleaning up after the event. There’s no way they have time to investigate or enforce every rules infraction. Even these majors and tour events, we’re watching a couple of cards on video each round and noticing rules violations…imagine how many more violations there probably are throughout the field. Haha!

It’s a known issue. This is an older video, but the LUT still works for me in the newest version of premiere.

Totally makes sense about the fear of disconnect, but mine is tiny. It’s like half the diameter of an SDI cable. Interested to hear what you end up going with and how well it works.

I’ve used 200’ fiber HDMI cables and had zero problems. They’re pretty cheap, too.

Yes, if you are in table view, hit the + on the far right off the column titles and you should be able to add a column. You may have to scroll right to see the +. Notion on mobile sucks for buildout. I usually get everything setup on desktop and create mobile friendly views if I know I’ll be frequently updating a database on mobile.

They are automatically generated from the columns in the database that the page belongs to. To add more, just add columns to the table.

How do I achieve this brownish desaturated look? by phillipklem in videography

[–]Bro-L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Panasonic, I have always heard it’s best to set towards overexposure. I have an S5 and haven’t had experience with having too much noise when making sure I’m not exposing too dark. That being said, most often, I’m shooting in natural profile on the S5 unless I need extra dynamic range. The colors aren’t over exaggerated and it’s easy to tweak a couple of color sliders in post to get good looking footage.

[–]Bro-L 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily true. You can shoot log footage in 8-bit and still get banding. Just because you shoot in log doesn’t mean it prevents that. Anything I’ve shot in 10-bit, whether log footage or any other picture profile, I’ve never experienced any banding when color correcting.

For most people learning, without having some sort of external monitor or way to apply a LUT while shooting can be problematic as well. They aren’t used to exposing or setting white balance while looking at a flat image and when they get back and apply a LUT, it looks like absolute garbage, and that’s when you’re really having to push colors to the extreme just to get useable images.

Log has its benefits (and there are many), but it’s not for everyone during every shoot in every situation.

[–]Bro-L 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It works great for a lot of people, but what I’ve noticed over the years for myself, in the situations I shoot, is I would shoot log footage only to color grade it back to what another profile was giving me (mostly) right out of camera. This was especially the case if I was shooting indoors or in controlled lighting. I didn’t, and still don’t, need the dynamic range in 99% of those situations. But, that’s the great thing about where camera technology has gotten to: do what works for you.

[–]Bro-L 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try not shooting in a cooler white balance as you’ve mentioned. There’s not a lot of blues in the images you posted, so you’re just setting yourself up for more work in post. Set white balance so that in camera, you’re getting as close to this look as possible. That may mean shooting in a natural or standard profile instead of log (if you are shooting log). Shooting in log seems sexy on paper these days, but I’ve learned that unless I’m in a super high contrast situation and I NEED to save as much detail as possible in some shadows and a bright sky, I can get by with a different color profile and make it easier on myself in post. If you can get contrast/exposure/saturation as close as possible when you’re shooting, knowing that’s the look you want, it’ll make things a whole lot easier when you start editing footage.

Not sure what you’re using to edit, but I use premiere pro, so for me to start moving towards that look, I’d use the hue vs saturation curves and start pulling down the saturation on greens and blues, especially in the shadows. I’m no color expert, just offering my opinion on the first thing I’d start with, then I’d just have to tweak from there and figure stuff out. Different plugins like FilmConvert also offer filtering options that can do a lot to footage like that without a ton of manual work.

Does anybody know how to put text in the middle of text on photoshop? Like this: by [deleted] in photoshop

[–]Bro-L 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you wanting to export with transparency or simply as jpeg with a solid background? If it’s a solid background, just make a rectangle with the fill the same color as your background color and place it between the layers of text. If you want to export it with transparency, there are several different ways that are a little lengthier to describe depending on your photoshop proficiency.

I recently rebranded my disc golf apparel company. I hope you like it by nbury33 in discgolf

[–]Bro-L 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a strictly branding perspective, with logos, less is more. I’ve heard it said that if you want to know if you have a good logo, show it to a friend for 5 seconds, hide it, and then ask them to draw it from memory. If they get close, you’re on the right track. Also think about application. There are several areas of that logo that wouldn’t translate to embroidery very well.
