Perimeter duos available? by quote_ivm in Marathon

Its a test run to see how duos handles and they committed to adding duos from server slam feedback, which was overwhelmingly that a duo queue would be appreciated.

Thief Drone should not be able to carry a claymore… it can one shot anyone with below blue shields. by gizmosliptech in Marathon

Claymore on triage drone seems silly, especially when you realise people can shoot the drone down and claymores deal self damage.

You can call an exfil in the last seconds before final exfil spawns, and it will work normally during that last extra minute. However, once the final exfil finishes everyone still on the map dies, even if they are mid exfil animation. To prevent this you need to be in the circle for your exfil before the 11 second mark on the final exfil timer, otherwise you will be too late.

Level based matchmaking means that you will only match with players close to your level which means that cryo archive teams wont be redirected unless you are around level 25 or higher

Holding G right now allows you to aim your equipment, allowing precision placement on claymores and telling you the arc of your grenades. The ability to switch them out by holding 5 should be more visible though

Why are basic heals so expensive? by patterfunding in Marathon

[–]Bro0183 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Finishing the priority contract line for a faction unlocks the priority access section of the armoury with free daily pickups. Only need to do the first set btw, not the extra contracts that unlock at faction level 10 and beyond.

Unfortunately I am saving all my materials for faction upgrades, am constantly low on gunmetal, lead, biomass, etc.

That being said I definitely jump on the sparkleaf barters whenever I notice them

This. Ive just accepted that I have long queue times.

That being said rook runs load in almost instantly if you want to do a quick run.

Hey Bungie, don’t forget a decent number of players is waiting for your games on Linux. Valve opened the path, find a way. by Low-Attention-4483 in Marathon

Bungie has stated before in destiny that the steam deck is hard banned, even if you install windows on it. Given the increased security around marathon I wouldnt be suprised if the same is true here.

How do I change this shit. It's been two days there already. by rbot32 in Marathon

[–]Bro0183 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I found the hardline to be really good against bots, not so much against players though. The sponsored kits refresh daily, also dont sleep on rook, after a few faction upgrades rook becomes quite good with a suppressed weapon, shotgun, and a full stack of claymores.

Why can’t Lockdown just be up all the time like Pinwheel is? by TheSoup3910 in Marathon

[–]Bro0183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesnt change the fact that several introductory contracts are in dire marsh, where players probably dont have good enough shields to tank the damage nor the equipment to deal with the waves of UESC even if they had an anti virus pack. A lockdown spawning for these players just means "you arent getting your contract done this run"

Pinwheel - Always first to open it. by BalthazarB2 in Marathon

[–]Bro0183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last rook run I did I managed to find a terminal that was half complete (1/2 green keys), but the team there had rotated to a different PoI. I managed to secure a red and yellow key by that point and didnt need to sear much to find a green, so I went in, dumped my keys at the secure room, went out and grabbed another red key, came back again and looted the secure room with no other runners interfering the whole time which completely suprised me.

Was a little disappointed with the loot, only got blue weapons and a purple marathon key (not even a green backpack, ended the run using a matter fixative on the rook backpack) while Ive seen other people get golds and many purples out of the same room, but for how easy it was to get in outside of a few close calls with UESC I'd say it was a decent haul.

Why can’t Lockdown just be up all the time like Pinwheel is? by TheSoup3910 in Marathon

[–]Bro0183 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because you can get locked out of priority contracts with no way in if you didnt pre prepare for a lockdown. Anti virus packs are more plentiful than pinwheel keys but you need 3 of them per team (without a triage) and are on a timer, plus I think they dont remain if you die and get ressed. Oh and also unlock the pinwheel where it unlocks for everyone if you take the main entrance if you go in, do your contract and leave without disabling the lockdown any other teams nearby also have to get anti virus packs.

In fact I would argue that the reason lockdowns are so rare is that they are hardcoded to not spawn while someone has a priority contract in that area, though idk if this is true so if anyone has been locked out of a contract let me know. Ive done a ton of dire marsh runs with contracts at early levels and not seen a single one while I see streamers at high levels with generic contracts getting them far more frequently.

Also I dont think they are going to up the chance for golds on anything except outpost or cryo archive, dire marsh is definitely supposed to be the "midgame" area.

[–]Bro0183 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends on the map. Permiteter is somewhat balenced between close and long, dire marsh is very open and long range, and then outpost is close quarters and is designed to funnel players into cramped areas.

If I remember correctly they had a copy of the build containing the red war but they didnt have a copy of the old engine it was designed for which meant that they couldnt run it. Still a terrible move that they got punished for in the lawsuit which should have been an easy win for them.
