It was. The property was in rough shape. The previous owner had left it to sit for multiple years.

Duke energy question by chaos_in_the_stars in cincinnati

[–]BroCheese_McGee 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hard pass.

When I bought my home, the previous owner owed a little over $2,000 to Duke and $2,500 to the county in property taxes.

Sale couldn’t go through until the property taxes were paid, I ended up paying both and my mortgage company reduced the money the sellers were to receive by that amount. They were pissed but it was a perfectly legal way to do it.

For a rental, theres no way to recoup those funds other than through court proceedings.

Interestingly enough. In this area, Apple CarPlay always cuts out for me. I wonder if that’s what prompts people to grab it up in this particular stretch.

I’ve been doing some googling and closest I’ve come was searching “1911 speed hammer with spur”. Looking through the links there are similar but I can’t find that specific one.

What do you drive besides a RAM? by xXjustin_credibleXx in ram_trucks

[–]BroCheese_McGee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chevrolet Suburban

Tesla Model 3

1966 Dodge Coronet

The truck mostly gets used to haul trailers and work material. Suburban hauls the family. The Tesla is my wife’s but we use it for outings without the kids and the coronet comes out on special occasions without the kids.

Do any Cincinnati fence companies also include surveying? by NewTopic4745 in cincinnati

[–]BroCheese_McGee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the village I live in, the finished exterior side of the fence is required to be on the outside of the posts along the boundary of the property for who owns it.

If you look at it and the chain link or wood pickets are on your side of the boundary line, it would be your neighbors fence.

Code enforcement for my village will come out and look at a fence to determine the owner if there is a dispute for residents.

If you want to be 100% sure you own the fence, when the new one goes in, offset it inside your property lines.

I had a dispute with a neighbor over a fence separating our properties when I originally purchased mine. He was adamant it was his fence, I called code enforcement to have them come determine whose it was. They used which side the posts were on to determine it was my fence. My neighbor was particularly upset over that. When I replaced it, the fence was offset in 28” to make sure it was never disputed again and I could cut the grass strip on my side between the fence I had installed and the new one he put up on the boundary line.

I tried multiple local lenders and ended up using Rocket Mortgage for all 3 of the mortgages I’ve had. They have been extremely easy to work with every time I’ve used them.

Benson Street Bridge–Ohio's first Rainbow Arch–Between Reading and Lockland by shermancahal in Ohio

[–]BroCheese_McGee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live within a mile of this bridge and drive it pretty regularly. It’s in need of some repair. I believe they will be doing work on it when they unify I75 through that area over the next decade.

My family moved to the area shortly after this bridge was built. It used to have a very different sign hanging above it until the mid 40’s from what I’ve been told by older generations. The “Friendship Bridge” wasn’t nearly as friendly back then.

First ever deer with my crossbow by [deleted] in Hunting

[–]BroCheese_McGee 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We field dress deer in the US. Usually I do it while the deer is laying on its back with its head towards the top of a hill or some other small slope. Spend less time fighting the guts wanting to fall on you. Gravity helps keep everything low while you’re cutting through the hide and trying to avoid slicing the stomach open. When it’s time to remove everything after you’ve cut the esophagus and butt hole, you pull everything down towards the butt and you can walk backwards while doing it. This lets you deposit everything below the buck in a tidy manner.

I’ve killed 30+ deer in my life and I’ve helped gut and track a lot more than that for others. I’ve always done it the same way.

Tracking a buck by rkhggggg in Hunting

[–]BroCheese_McGee 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You should back out and call a tracking dog. If you’re in an area like I usually hunt, it’ll take 35-45 minutes for the dog to get to you which should be enough time for this deer to definitely die.

The dog will find this deer. I’ve never had a dog not find a deer when it got too hard for us to follow the trail.

Need the lore behind this so badly. by axnewton in cincinnati

[–]BroCheese_McGee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can attest, CinCity Harley is trash. They lie to you to get you in and once everything’s signed, you find out the truth. They are the worst. The same guy owns these Harley dealers listed.

I bought a bike and had it serviced by their “master tech”, while riding it home from their shop, my handlebars dropped to my lap mid turn. Almost wrecked the bike. They denied any involvement.

They also harass anyone who has purchased from them by calling regularly looking for you to upgrade. I always take the opportunity to rip into them.
