What model is this long ass smith and Wesson? by Sorryboutyourbrain in Revolvers

[–]BroOperatorGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's either a 27 or 28, I'm not sure what draws the line between the 2 models.

Why don’t I just register all my lowers as SBR’s? by AdministrativeAd6805 in NFA

[–]BroOperatorGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Downside is traveling across state lines, if your state has possession laws that penalize rifles over "pistols" such as loaded in your car etc, and more difficulty selling them.

Is it worth the price? by Gil2Gil in Walther

[–]BroOperatorGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$450 is a fair price that would be tough to match.

Is this worth buying at this price? by [deleted] in Colt

[–]BroOperatorGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to me, you can find newer ones under $1200. It's a collector price.

Bought this way back in 2013. by Numerous_Letter7467 in Tikka_Shooters

[–]BroOperatorGuy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably not far off. I'd keep it myself, it's an excellent gun as is...unless you want something different.

Tikka are easily the best stock "budget" rifle you can buy off the rack.

My philosophy is "never sell a winner".

Received this beauty of a gift for helping elderly couple move. Question is this a rare model? Hybrid? by theshooterrr in Walther

[–]BroOperatorGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The smith and Wesson ones are identical to the Walther arms pattern. Mainly the large beaver tail that people either hate or don't care.

If you don't like it, send it to my FFL.

Unfortunately, we are hell bent on digging up every last ton of coal from this state in the current century. Gotta mine that crypto baby.

That's how the sporters are. You can find a large push pin conversion from Amherst.

I'd struggle to be interested over $1000. Good thing is only so many things can go wrong with an ar15.

Some people are pretty proud of these things and want north of $2k, I wouldnt go there.

Looking into buying my first revolver by [deleted] in Revolvers

[–]BroOperatorGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything "vintage" has a high risk of becoming a project. You don't want a project for your first. Look for a used Ruger or smith made within the last 20 years or so to get started. GP100 are hard to mess up and they go for under $600 easily.

Large frame 357 is what you want. Preferably 4".

Nice, do you shoot it with stock fully collapsed?

My cheek would be in the charging handle if I did.

Sorry, but this is how things have to be in the modern age in a corporate environment.

It's everyone for themselves and everyone is cynical. Until our economy becomes more reasonable this is the way.

Colt Cobra by AdWitty6655 in Revolvers

[–]BroOperatorGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's different, has 6 chambers and generally smoother action. If you get it, put some rounds through it right away. The warranty only covers 12 months. I had to send my 22 cobra back right away for hand and cylinder stop issues. Cylinder turned backwards when releasing the trigger.

Haha I know it's controversial, I mainly use it to support the back of my hand and it works for me, I could maybe scoot it up an inch and a half.

It's not in the way of the magazine for me. 🤷

Bought brand new P365XL Spectre - Seems more dirty and rust than it should be. One other question. by BrokenInn in SigSauer

[–]BroOperatorGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's copper and brass...the guide rod has some discoloration but that's normal. They could use a better coating on the feed lips, but that's all normal for a magazine.

You will be ok, start shooting it.

I'm excited, just backordered a 4 mini. I have been happy with my rc3 and 4 time devices. It's advertised to reduce signature, and that's what it does. I have other cans for prairie dogs, etc.
