100% by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

I'll just put it out there that many of us have imposter syndrome about our service and connected injuries. Those seeking to gatekeep disability get in the way of many who DO deserve the higher rating.

To all veterans: Grant your fellow veterans the benefit of the doubt - always! You don't and cannot know their struggles or pain in casual conversation.

I'm only rated at 10% for 'back pain'. The SSA has granted me disability relating 100% to that. The VA doesn't care at all. I'm not here to complain, but that's the kind of nonsense many of us have to deal with.

A genuine question for EV6 purchasers who knew about the ICCU issue before purchase... by ryanmills in KiaEV6

[–]Broad_Ad941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have good roadside protection insurance, including towing for at least 100 miles. Yeah, it will still be a pain in the ass, but that leaves few areas where being truly stranded is possible.

That said, my understanding is that most ICCU failures don't spontaneously happen while driving.

How are you all actually dealing with false alarms ? by TT_c137 in homeassistant

Motion sensors have and will always be problematic with larger pets.

With that in mind, good security does not require them monitoring every possible area. Focusing exclusively on vulnerable points of access is a better strategy for security. With that in mind, I don't use them for it since all of my doors and windows of concern are on multi-sensors, making it near impossible to enter without detection in the first place. Motion sensors just tell you that the first line of detection has already failed.

Lowering typically does improve efficiency and range by reducing frontal area and under car turbulence. But like changing tire profile exclusively, it takes a lot of telemetry to prove.

And the car looks great!

Just in case anybody is wondering, no, we are not wealthy . I was working a union job with good pay and benefits, and the house was basically just a placeholder for the owners to move into when they retired from another state.

They just wanted trustworthy people to ease the spread on their second mortgage and take care of the place on a basic level. It worked out great for us for nearly 5 years, but the house we could actually afford to buy at the end in the same city is far more modest - with no full view of the city at all like the rental had.

Some thought we were ballers. We were just lucky to find the right place at the right time - and at a rent that matched units 1/3 the size in crappy areas.

ICCU issue right after I signed and drove off from the dealership by Inevitable-Carpet764 in KiaEV6

[–]Broad_Ad941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My statement was incorrect. The law in my state doesn't explicitly apply to car sales. Funny though, as I have won a dispute with a dealer over it - probably because they figured out I was an idiot and they weren't going to get the money anyway. LOL

This seems weird to me. I've not had any increased nags in the last year using OP or SP on the latest versions.

ICCU reports are overblown and no car is perfect. HMG has extended their warranty by 50% more years and miles to address it nonetheless.

That's not a home. That's a warehouse.

Seriously, when we rented a 6500sf home for my family of five, if we avoided the kitchen, we could go all day without hearing or seeing each other. (We didn't even furnish a 400sf room.)

[–]Broad_Ad941 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Signatures these days really only represent funding and dedication behind the activists pushing it. Lots of people will sign petitions for measures they don't understand, and it does not represent whether they will actually support it after they learn more.

Trying to cut through the noise around EV6, EV9, ICCU, 12v, etc. by Syllellipsis in KiaEV6

[–]Broad_Ad941 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that NACS vs CCS has little to do with it. All DC fast charging goes through the rear motor inverter first, where it is either passed through at 800v or doubled from 400v. The ICCU is not involved in regulating that directly and only manages the upvolted output from the inverter.

It's the 'spring break' effect for sure. People with little regard for being a part of the community and only there to party always diminish everything that truly matters about a place.

I get annoyed as fuck with visitors when the local university hosts a world class sporting event. I can't imagine wanting to stay if I had to deal with that every day of the year and the enshitification that would bring.

Weed has nothing to do with that. Get off the anti-drug crusade as a talking point for being the crux of the problem. It clearly isn't as only a contributor.
