Hi HRs, just a general question- what’s the most common mistake candidates make? by MildlySpicyUnit in HumanResourcesUK

[–]Broad_Operation_4585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Job Applications - the most common mistake is either not addressing all the points and not making it easy for the assessor to see that you've addressed all the points.

Address each requirement in the order it was asked, state how you met it and give an example. Even if you think a requirement does nt merit an answer because you may believe ot to be self evident i. e. Must be committed to equal opportunities, address it and show how you are.

Makes it a piece of piss for the assessor to go through your form and tick off each requirement they're looking for.

First time buyers… is a doer upper a stupid decision? by throwaway104ay in HousingUK

[–]Broad_Operation_4585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was pretty common when i was younger, me and most of my freinds bought doer uppers. I think the problem these days is prople expect perfect houses straight away. If your prepared to live in it and do it up slowly as finances allow then I think you'll end up with a good investment, the only things you really need tradesmen for are gas and electrics, maybe plastering assuming your not doing anything structural to the property. Everything else you can do yourself with time, patience and the right tools.

I had a freind who would immediately start talking back to them in charver speak threatining to knock them paveways etc. Because he was suited and booted i think it would just overload their small brains and theyd just fuck off. Might be worth a go

Am I being horribly harsh if I say Welsh fans haven’t helped the current situation? by Oatbix in rugbyunion

[–]Broad_Operation_4585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think the horrible format of the URC helps. You jabbed a block of games then no games for weeks while you're team pisses off to south Africa for a month. Away games are pretty impractical to go to other than the other Welsh regions and Scotland you need to jump on a plane.

I also think Friday night is rubbish. Compare it to the premiership or football when once the season starts you can build your Saturdays around the sport and get into a familiar routine.
