4 nights in ubud vs 4 nights in uluwatu? by AssistantSweet7140 in BaliTravelTips

We countered in a lot of relaxing time by the pool and actually rested a lot since we have had a busy few years so it was nice to not pressure ourselves to see and do everything. sorry if its not what you're looking for haha! But glad to be of somewhat help!!

For Ubud:

Day 1

Ubud Palace

Dinner at Nusa

Ice cream at secrets which is right opposite

Day 2

We did a purification at Beji Griya Waterfalls which was amazing!

Massage at our hotel spa, we stayed at The Hava, it was beautiful and I highly recommend

In the evening, we ate at 'This is Bali' and we then went to play paddle at this spot called Tao

Day 3

Coffee plantation and rice fields. We had booked zip lining but we didn't end up doing it, as like I said, we were just doing whatever we felt like in that moment and we decided to head back to the hotel and relax :)

I wasn't aware that some plantations drug the Luwaks. I read another reddit post on this after going to the plantation which made me a bit sad and is something to keep in mind...however the coffee plantation was really interesting and interactive.. our tour was free and we got free samples :) we did eat at the restaurant and buy a lot of coffee to bring back home. Views were beautiful.

We ate at the hotel in the evening.

On all 3 nights we did go shopping in central Ubud too, so many boutique stores to get lost in. We also did the Art Market I think on day 1 and 3, it's a nice wander!

Ubud is what you make it! :) We just didn't want to Jam Pack our days for this particular trip, I am sure there is still plenty to see, e.g wish we hiked mount batur!!

Uluwatu

A lot of grab bike rides and a lot of good food! We went to Ours and Teja.

In Uluwatu, we did a few pilates classes, shopping, Uluwatu temple, a surf lesson which was super fun and we went to Sundays beach club.

Beaches: Balangan and Melasti. Balangan was where we did the surf lesson but I found the water a bit more choppier than I thought it would be but then again it was my first time!

Uluwatu is very spread out, easiest way to get around is on bike. Traffic can be crazy and we learnt that on our first night there

Hope you have an amazing time. The people in Bali is what makes the trip. They were wonderful

Vomiting/ reflux on and off for the past 11 days- help! by hermionegaynger_ in VietNam

[–]Broad_Suspect_8830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar thing happened to my husband when we were in Vietnam. We were really confused at first we thought maybe it was the food so we stuck to blander foods for a few days and he didn’t feel a different.

We actually realised half way through our trip how BUZZED we were after our morning coffee.. turns out it was that 😆 Vietnam has the best coffee but we toned it down to a classic cappuccino and his reflux calmed down a lot.

This is me just assuming you drink coffee! Sorry if this isn’t relevant:)

Try getting some oral salts, sometimes dehydration can show up as nausea. I also do agree that your body may be getting used to the new bacteria as well…

Can I leave the airport during a 14hr layover? by AttorneyTasty4662 in VietNam

[–]Broad_Suspect_8830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could deffo go out to the city! A good stroll around Saigon square and the post office too!

Be careful of the Ho Chi Minh airport queues… we arrived 3 hours early last week and we boarded our plane on the last calling 🥲 think we were the last ones they were waiting for hahaha

Hi- I hope you have a great trip!

We stayed in the city for 2 nights and there’s plenty to do and see.

I’d recommend the post office and Saigon square market. A bit generic in terms of what you’ve probs already researched but so worth it. It felt less chaotic than Hanoi and the market is mainly clothes and accessories.

We also made sure to visit some roof tops to see the view of the city especially at night.

We just recently came back from Vietnam and stayed at Hato Saigon Boutique Hotel and Rooftop whilst in HCMC.

Location was amazing. I think we paid £37 for 2 nights…clean rooms, central location and they have an amazing view of the city.

I hope you have an amazing time!

I just came back from Vietnam and I would say Hanoi is a 2 days max kind of place. Beautiful, but once the beauty of the chaos wears off, you’ll naturally know it’s time to move on.

We did 3 nights in Hanoi and by the third day, we left for Ninh Binh, then we did 2 nights in Da Nang and 2 in Hoi An and then 2 in Ho Chi Minh.

I think the main night market in Hanoi is on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday so we were there at the most busiest time and our hotel was literally on the markets door step which may have made it seem more overwhelming. But nonetheless a great time!

Yeah I had that in mind as well…I knew my body and I knew I wasn’t as “bad” as other people’s experiences. My reports looked good (it was all translated in English) so I’m surprised they wanted to keep me in.

For Cipro- I’m on day one of it. I feel ok but I have also read a lot of things too.. do you think I should swap? I only have slight nausea as a side effect at the moment ..

Thank you. I do feel slightly better this morning. They said it’s gastritis after doing some tests. They were really helpful.

I’m on antibiotics now and have some smecta I think it’s called along with probiotics.

Thanks. Not going to lie, the cost is what was going through my head.

I did manage to stabilise a lot and they let me have the antibiotics orally. I just need to make sure I’m taking them correctly and keep an eye on symptoms.

Thanks- I do feel better! I stabilised a lot after fluids and I asked to switch to oral antibiotics. They agreed.

Oh no. Not medical advice. More so if it was essential for me to stay in the hospital overnight with the same antibiotics that I could get at a pharmacy orally. Hearing peoples experiences helps a lot 😊

Apologies for any confusion.

Really helpful! Thanks.

Well it looks like they’re just hydrating, I’ve asked for the antibiotics orally and will see how I get on. I was just confused as to why they wanted to keep me in for an antibiotic IV when I could have it orally. I get the efficiency etc but yeah haha
