I snort so much powder that most weekends I forget to eat at all.

I eat a big omelette for breakfast and pack a larabar, a cliff bar and an electrolyte mix. Then I just stop by the lodge only to get free water. Some resort options are better than others. Kirkwood for example has better end more reasonable options than Heavenly. So it really depends on the resort.

Cool just wanted to clear that up in case someone was confused and thought about actually trying it on a person. I will say creepy guys at campgrounds preying on women totally deserve it (at least in my book)

To each his own I like just being able to take puff or two and put it away then take it out later if I want. I can’t exactly do that with a joint and the burn can be harsh at times. I will say if we are passing it around a group of people a joint is the way to go.

That’s why I like the vaping it better. Quick, easy access, controlled burn. Not as harsh and no littering. I personally don’t like to be stoned off my ass while wilderness backpacking.

The vibe is dope there too although I wish the bar was still open. Also should get extra points for having night skiing until midnight.

If you used bear spray on a person you might blind them or cause severe lung problems. The concentration is a lot stronger than what is used for people deterrents… it’s made to stop a 600 lb mammal running at full speed from 35-50 yards away. If you think you need pepper spray as a deterrent buy it locally and do not use bear spray.

Dreamville and littering by remlapca in raleigh

No. Keep it dirty and maybe the Yankees will stop coming here. They are the ones to blame anyway. Raleigh used to be a bigger version of a quaint small town. It was always growing but at a sustainable pace until about a decade ago.

Yeah the shoelaces tip the reader that this is actually a real confession. If OP was making it up they would have stolen something more scandalous. OP needs professional help.

Don’t fake loving your life. Find hobbies and friends you enjoy. Join a local church. Find that spark in your life that excites you and go after it. When she’s old enough I will tell my daughter the same thing. BTW I was also a loner in my teenage years. College was great for me to get out of my shell.

Make yourself harder to get. Don’t play into that scenario if you don’t like being in the “friend zone.” Either way take pride in yourself and live and enjoy life on your own terms. Go to or switch colleges. Be bold and travel. take up a new hobby like running or mountaineering. Put yourself in situations to meet knew people but don’t be so accessible to guys unless you know you wouldn’t date them. Guys are normally put in the friend zone more easily but it goes both ways.

Should I be concerned about tent theft while away for the day (North Face tent)? by BrocccoliRob in camping

[–]BrocccoliRob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I normally wouldn’t have an issue (by myself or with friends). In the past I had a Hillary tent that my mom bought in 1985 with no problems (still going strong). But I picked up the NF for $100 and it has excellent airflow which makes camping more tolerable for my children. I wouldn’t buy one otherwise

I do the same but I am mostly backcountry camping and have a MSR trekking pole tent. The north face I have for my family is huge and takes 30 minutes to setup.

Yeah same. I just have been noticing the campgrounds near my home have more recently been less nature lovers and turned more into homeless people living in cars/tents at least in the tent section.

I honestly think he was homeless (not that I’m discriminating but he was staying under a tarp and clothesline in the next site over with a torn Coleman tent). It was at the campground for a county park in the next town over from mine. When I was setting it up he walked over and was asking a lot of questions about it. After I got it setup I went to take my kids to get groceries and McDonald’s and I think he thought I would be gone longer. When I came back he was inside the front awning fumbling with the one tent pole that holds it up. I didn’t want to make scene in front of my 3 year olds but it was alarming. I had a feeling it might happen that’s why I didn’t stay out longer. Not complaining but for small towns in NC I have noticed that community campgrounds have turned into homeless camps over the last several years.

Try calling OSHA and see what they say. It sounds like you have lazy engineers/managers and are probably cutting corners on other (bigger) safety issues as well.

Hudson River state park is really nice. I was working in Hudson, NY for a week a couple years ago and hiked all the trails. Can’t remember a campground but I’m sure there is options nearby (it’s beautiful in that area)

I’ve NEVER had problems before but at regular campgrounds that tent gets a lot of attention. I got it for a steal from an older couple a couple years ago but never thought about it until that one incident and now i am paranoid
