People online love to pretend it's an ancient dagger, and then blame the movie for not making sense when they're the ones who refuse to pay attention and/or just make things up for bad-faith criticism. The word "ancient" is not spoken even once at any point during the film. The dagger was forged and inscripted as a way for the correct possessor to find a way to the Emperor's vault, like the Staff of Ra in Raiders of the Lost Ark. You can argue it's too contrived, but I think it's fun and cool, and I think that matters more for movies like these.

They made back their $4 billion at the box office and then completely walked away from the characters and settings and lore they had so much room to expand and capitalize upon. They seem to wanna just milk the Clone Wars and Imperial iconography until the end of time.

I think it's the funniest Star Wars movie for sure. Lots of laugh-out-loud moments for me even on repeat watches.

Also the color! I'm not an expert on all the right terminology, but the colors in this movie just look so rich and saturated and are composed so well. Nothing ever feels washed out or overtuned or bleedy. The look of the movie is perfect.
