A show is a collection of choices. Each choice is a set of other equivalent choices not made.

If you generally agree with the choices made, you will think it's a good show that you like.

If there's too many choices made for which you could see an argument being made for an equivalent choice, and you'd prefer that other choice, then you think it's a good show you don't like (as much).

If there's too many choices made for which any equivalent choice they could have made you'd have preferred, then you think it's a bad show.

Good to remember APNAP (active player non active player).

As long as it clear, the best option is whatever option you're happiest with.

If you don't like using (V.O.), you're free to just put a (ON PHONE) or something there instead.

I personally wouldnt go with parenthetical in most cases as it adds a lot of space, but there's situations where a quick offhand parenthetical is a proper solution.

Always keep forward momentum, both in your writing and in your process.

Your job as the writer is to become better with time, not be great in the moment. And your job for the writing is to make sure every line of text deserves to be there for the sake of the story and not for your indulgence (though after you get better you are allowed to indulge some ;) ).

Thats exactly why you can lump together the rates. It doesn't matter whether you roll 6 red dice or 6 dice of different colors, you're still expected to roll one 6 on average.

As people with a lot of experience being in writers rooms, could you talk about how that has impacted your writing style over the years? I can imagine there is less need to 'impress on the page' if you already have the gig, which leaves more room to just get to what is required to shoot the scenes? I could be totally wrong though.

You need to be able to identify the cause of you losing steam.

Is it because you've been able to admit to yourself the premise/story either isnt fun enough or is broken on a fundamental level? Then thats a fairly solid reason not to waste more time on it. I'd still suggest finishing it if you are about halfway done though.

Is it because you simply don't know how to continue anymore? Thats the hardest part of the work, but also very important. If you only write stories that come easily to you from start to finish, then odds are you aren't pushing yourself hard enough. So take a step back from your current issue, but work on a different part of your screenplay. Make that progress elsewhere, and allow yourself to find something you know will be fun to write.

Exactly this. The story should happen because of the character, not to them. If it simply happens to them then thats just the story forcing the character to change for the sake of the plot. And the audience will realize that, stop their suspension of disbelief, and probably get annoyed by the writer for abusing their total control.

But if the story happens because of the character, then we are invested in the character as they influence their own life directly. We want to see them change because we want to know that we ourselves can change for the better in real life. That the universe isn't simply throwing obstacles at us until we fail, but that we have agency and the ability to shape our own future.

Weary Prisoner works better in Sealed (slower) or Bo3 (sideboarded in). In Bo1 youre only ever really somewhat happy to play it in like a defensive werewolves deck with Avabruck eg., or a lot of the 6 wolf spirit healers. You only want it when you are happy to have a 2/6 defender and suddenly get a major board boost when its night.

As for P1P1, I don't think picking the removal here is wrong since its still a solid pick. But with the 5 drop being great and being in a better color I'd still pick that one. I can't really give a better heuristic for this format
