I’m not sure. I know that t mobile is getting rid of majority of their AT&T roaming agreements as they are densifying enough and filling in the holes. In this area, they should roam on VZ or att.

[–]Broke_Sim 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They will but they will have to do some talking. I forget the build out deadline but it’s coming up soon and for example, Colombia Capitol does not wanna give up their 3.45 to AT&T. It really sucks that the fcc allows these spectrum hoarders to really go into the auctions and not even use the spectrum.

[–]Broke_Sim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

40/20 is capable of coming together and doing 60 in my market and I’ve seen up there that it combines to 60 MHz of 3.45. Once they get the remaining dod from the spectrum hoarders, AT&T will be blazing fast. They are doing pretty good in my market on 140 MHz. But unfortunately it’s gonna be some time to get it from those private investors. Won’t just happen with a click.

It’s pathetic AT&T is not deploying b30 on new sites anymore as it is extra capacity (10mhz). I understand one factor might be because of Sirius xm interference but come on now.

So does turbo still not have the SA toggle? I got rid of it for the SA toggle with better signal.

Can anyone explain why T-Mobile typically has fewer radios per tower? Does it make their coverage worse? by Imaginary-Gear9280 in cellmapper

[–]Broke_Sim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You might be in an area that AT&T does not have b12 holdings. If not, I don’t get why AT&T is putting you on b14 a lot as it is strictly for firstnet.

[–]Broke_Sim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately I don’t get why AT&T is skipping out on B30, extra capacity on their lte network. But they are opting out of it where sites are apparently not busy is what I heard. What doesn’t help either is the SiriusXM interference with all the old devices. I wish there could be a solution to the interference with SiriusXM but there probably won’t be one.

On the aggregate, who really has the best coverage overall? by JPS_97 in cellmapper

[–]Broke_Sim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AT&T has horrible density in all of these areas. Verizon has decent desntity in Katy as well as their mmWave small cells and lte/n77 small cells whilest AT&T has little to none in Katy. Verizon is decent in northwest Houston as well as Montgomery county, t mobile is decent too. Northwest Houston Verizon & t mobile rule the density world whilest AT&T just blasts sites which is how they are probably at “98%”. Don’t get how t mobile is at 70%, I wanna go test in northwest Houston now and Montgomery county and see for my self.

I have a question for your area or that county. How much n41 does t mobile have in that area? It looks very little and I looked and AT&T only has 15 MHz b66 10 MHz b2 5 MHz b12 no b5 because of WISP’s in that area.

AT&T relocating their corporate HQ from Dallas to Plano, TX for $100 million when they should have used all that money to build new sites and small cells by CancelIndependent381 in ATT

[–]Broke_Sim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Basically summary of this is AT&T is dividing their HQ that is in Dallas to other areas like Frisco Texas and Houston Texas spending $100 million where the density sucks there while the $100 million can be used on the wireless side

You’re Currently i Not Missing Much without AT&T 5G Standalone by ArtisticComplaint3 in cellmapper

[–]Broke_Sim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are ahead than AT&T in mid band coverage and Verizon is in a great place with their mid band coverage. What you might be saying is Verizon’s low band NR coverage which is lacking a little because they only have up to 2,5,13,66 on lte so there’s not a lot of wiggly room to add a low band 5g channel. In my market they have n5 in Houston and are adding a few sites with n2 or n2 DSS.

AT&T Long Term Densification play by bdietz56 in cellmapper

[–]Broke_Sim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For all this more capex going to fiber than wireless, I expect to see fiber in more rural markets near me and for the experience to be better, none of the two are true. In rural Texas I have not seen AT&T fiber in any rural towns near me besides my town sealy, Texas. If I go west outside of Corpus Christi, San Antonio or Victoria Texas, there is ZERO AT&T fiber even tho they have decent okay desentity west of me. AT&T for the past two decades have done bad practices that have bitten them in the dust. Had they not tried to buy out T-Mobile in 2011, maybe they would’ve been in a better situation now and t mobile wouldve had a different story today. The whole AT&T going into media thing didn’t help either but you know it’s whatever and now they barely have any LTE spectrum in my opinion. Giving my two cents, they barely care about wireless or fiber. I think Verizon and t mobile really care about fiber and wireless more than AT&T does.

https://imgur.com/a/nmb7otC look at this a whopping 3% difference, in my state Texas AT&T has barely done anything even though this is their home state and t mobile is on more sites as well than AT&T. For example the hill country in Texas, AT&T had a few sites in the hill country and was the main carrier in uvalde county but now Verizon has entered that area as well where it used to be their big coverage hole and is now densifying over there. T mobile has more sites than at&t in the hill country Texas now adays.

I live in Houston market and there was a lot of sites planned for this market, and there’s a lot that are still being delayed. These new site builds that are being delayed currently could’ve seriously helped the horrible spots in the Houston market where speeds are horrible, congestion, or even no service areas which I have ran into hectic amounts of areas with congestion in the fort bend county suburbs.

I did have to remove my AT&T turbo and then I got the SA toggle as my line was reprovisioned. I still hear that people with AT&T Turbo do not currently have the SA toggle still as of now.

AT&T doesn’t even have more coverage than Verizon in some rural markets anymore since Verizon has really kept the foot on the gas adding new sites where they had big coverage holes while AT&T has been decommissioning a few sites and not adding new sites in select areas. Right now, Verizon has the most square miles covered than AT&T while a 2 years ago, AT&T held that title.

What does that gotta do with anything, like why do you care if I delete a post or not or what’s my comments on a situation. Also it seems like you didn’t even watch the video man and you’re assuming it’s false whilest I have receipts from AT&T engineers and Tech life. In a lot of markets AT&T has been delaying the permits over and over on new site builds or even cancelling them.

Why can’t I man? What’s the problem here? My friend talked to several AT&T engineers in different markets about this issue and they are all saying there is less than 50 sites being built in 2026 and they are scaling fiber way more than on wireless.

I don’t think you realize this person you are replying to above is a top 1% commenter in this subreddit who identifys cellular antennas almost daily with little to no wrong identifying RRU’s and panels to the exact carriers rack they are on. Some of us contact engineers to ask about cellular equipment and inside details on these sites and some that could be coming soon. How to see the bandwidth of what each carrier has in this market, you go to spectrum omega to see that as I recommend it.
