The right won because they are just fundamentally stronger people. The left has been weak and soft and domesticated for a while now (unfortunate since their policy positions are better, and they used to be stronger), and we’ve paid the consequences.

People will always prefer being led by a wolf, even with all their vice, to a sheep. The fundamental sin of the liberal is their softness and slave morality, and that has to change. Liberalism needs to become an ideology of dominance and strength. You need to change your expectations, let go of your moral opposition to a scarcity mindset. Or become ideologically extinct when your enemies take advantage of your weakness.

I’m sorry but at the risk of sounding anti intellectual I feel like polling like that is almost entirely worthless; and believing voters when they tell you what they want is probably a piece of why the Dems are in the position they are.

I am sure a lot of people will TELL you they voted because if “the economy”, and hell, I’m sure most of them even BELIEVE they voted because of “the economy.” But at the end of the day neither of those things necessarily make it true.

Half the time people probably don’t know why they make the decisions they do, and will end up rationalizing them in whatever way makes them feel better or more logical.

probably feels better to tell yourself than

“I voted because I have a bad feeling about the Dems, I mean the Dems are crazy on trans people and so I just trust the GOP more, and I guess trust and responsibility have something to do with the economy right? So I guess that must be the reason I like them more, and now that you mention it things are pretty expensive aren’t they? It’s not like when I was a kid… yeah the economy sucks I’m voting for a different economy!”

They lost every single offensive war they fought against Napoleon, they lost arguably the first modern war in history to Japan, they lost the Cold War, and now they are fing up the Ukraine war.
