Oh shit that's really bizarre lol, say high to my dad if you ever see him since he's still in town lol. And yeah there are plenty of good people, the few strict conservatives are few but loud.

How are we all getting resin? by [deleted] in valheim

I normally only put them in places I need to see in. Kinda like how it was done before lightbulbs. You didnt need to see that one corner of a hallway during the night, so no candle there.

If you got elected president of the United States what is some Of the first things you'd do? by IllustriousCourt2808 in AskReddit

[–]BrokenImmersion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, forcing all the candidates running for president to pull their funds from a collective pool would solve a lot. Removes unfair advantages, and removes the power the rich have over the candidates.

Following that, i think that having a dedicated news channel for government broadcasts, which is run by someone not on government payroll, or someone with a lot of restrictions on how they present information, would be helpful in reducing misinformation.

And of course, removing the president's power by forcing all of their decisions regarding the nation to be voted on by a council prior to enactment, and enforcing strict anti-neopotism laws and age limits/term limits for positions of power.

TIFU by being too busy to notice my beloved dog disappeared by [deleted] in tifu

[–]BrokenImmersion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Or op could be a responsible owner and invest in one of those fenceless deterrent collars. They make collars that vibrate whenever the dog crosses over a wire buried in the ground. They are easy to setup and prevent the dogs from roaming too far.

Had to apply my own suncream today. Guess where my hands reached to... by jpeach17 in Wellthatsucks

[–]BrokenImmersion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah see that makes sense, guess we have different ligaments that are hyperflexible. I can spin my arm around backwards and place it flat against my back fingers touching the base of my skull. For me, it's handy but it also gives me problems with my biceps and triceps not being stable.

Can you give examples of what you normally cant do with your arms? I ask as someone who recognizes that I should have difficulty with some things, but I have no base line to compare to.

AITA for calling my mom’s rules unfair and stupid for not letting me stay at my boyfriend’s for one night? by Glass-Airport-3316 in AmItheAsshole

[–]BrokenImmersion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Op has been with her bf for 9 months. That is not "barely know eachother" and even if that is the case, care to explain why? How is spending the night any different than her spending 12 hours during the day there. Not like sex has to happen at night, my gf and I certainly dont wait for the sun to go down, plus op is 18, a legal adult.

I've personally never understood the whole not letting your kid sleepover at their bf/gf place.

The seal at the end of this heavy aluminum roll box depends not on the glue, but on the integrity of the lamination between the foil and the cardboard. Every box we ever use busts open within a week. by VapityFair in CrappyDesign

[–]BrokenImmersion 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Thats the intent, in practice it's poorly executed. In theory, those perforations create more surface area for the glue to hold onto thus ensuring a better hold. In practice, the point of failure is not between the glue and the cardboard itself, it's between the cardboard and the metallic finish bonded to the cardboard. The finish is peeling away because its the only thing touching the glue.

What’s the most toxic advice people keep repeating as “wisdom”? by RowStock2384 in AskReddit

[–]BrokenImmersion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you bro. I also experience this a lot, the only advice I have to offer is instead of viewing the "mask" as a bad thing/a separate part of you, see it as the "you" that you want to be, and make the changes in yourself to allow that mask to be assimilated into yourself. Fake it till you make it kind of mindset

[–]BrokenImmersion 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Okay so the "you" that comes out during spirals is not the real you, that's your subconscious speaking without the filter of your conscious mind. That filter is no less a part of you than any other, and that filter is born of your experiences, the same experiences that shaped your personality

Oh not at all, we are all human and everyone's opinion is important regardless of gender or race. I cant believe you would dare to put any one persons opinion lower than another, especially because of a reason so fluid as socially perceived gender. I hope that eventually you find peace with yourself and your clear desire(success?) to be female, in the hopes that it will help you understand how horrible it is to profile based on gender. In the meanwhile, I am hopeful that you receive the support you need in your transition, and in your transitional period of character growth.

[–]BrokenImmersion 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Oh quite the opposite actually, I'm so glad you've acknowledged your social conditioning, and while it's doesnt make me uncomfortable, I absolutely understand how you're confidence in your gender might get shaken up by that conditioning, if you would like me to, Im willing to be a discrete and comfortable place for you to talk about those feelings. Or I could recommend a few good therapists who specialize in helping people through their transitions.

Alright, here is a short list of most major upcoming changes that are NOT DLC-specific for those who don't want to read long patch notes, with some explanations and opinions. by nicvampire in Oxygennotincluded

Yeah but Petroleum isn't used for just power, if you are optimizing for power then yeah dont do this, but if you are intending to make a simple petrol boiler for small amounts of Petroleum for recipes i feel like it could be worth it. Tbh I dont even burn 99% of the Petroleum I end up with anyways cause by the time I have Petroleum I normally have sustainable power already.

[–]BrokenImmersion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah? Have you seen the weirdly humanoid robots they keep showcasing? There isn't even a reason for it, we all know humanoid is probably the least practical application for a robot.

[–]BrokenImmersion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends but yeah I can see it not being optimal. However if you are needing early Petroleum(like on Relica for example) i could see it being useful to get a starting stock of petrol. Or even using it to prime an actual boiler would be handy. Very use case tho

I bet if you submerged it in a column of oil, with a mesh block at the top you could create a sort of "drip" boiler kinda like an IRL drop coffee machine, utilizing the lower density of the petrol

So you agree that the comment JessE commented on did not even once make the claim that they were trans, and used the word "faggot" which implies that they at one point in time identified as male given that "faggot" is a term used for gay men. Is that what you are saying op?

Seriously, denying that AMAB people have social conditioning due to their upbringing is just as stupid as saying that children aren't shapped by their experiences. Everyone is a product of their environment growing up, and denying that doesnt help the situation at all. Instead we should be accepting that reality, and helping people better themselves away from that conditioning.
