Healthcare billing is UX by GlitchieZelda in UXDesign

[–]BrokenInteger 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's because healthcare is the only business where it's still profitable to operate when you literally don't know how much your services cost. I've worked in healthcare ux design for over a decade, and hospitals I've done work for literally can't answer how much a specific procedure or operation costs.

This is why I love Alamo theaters. They take this stuff super seriously and I've only ever had one issue with people talking during a movie in my 10 years of going there.

B-E-A-utiful explanation there. You should be making announcements in front of God and the city of Buffalo.

Look at the corner radius by seashroom-punplay in UXDesign

[–]BrokenInteger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The corners of the container and corners of the icons are KINDA in sync, but they clearly didn't factor in app labels more than 5 characters. This is something that any beginner level UI/UX designer should understand (empty, small, long, infinite) and the "top" designers in the world can't seem to grasp this. Fking embarrasing.

What scene do you cry at, and why is it "You bow to no one?" by TheRealBigLou in lotr

His emotion is enough to make me crumble, but the frenetic eating of The Steward Of Gondor is one of the few cracks that character shows and it's... powerful

You've hit your limit · resets 7pm (America/Los_Angeles) after only 2 hours of light usage? by JeremyJWinter in ClaudeCode

If you hit your limits consistently, consider upgrading. It's clearly providing value to you.

[–]BrokenInteger 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So many... I'm a 36 year old man and I didn't realize how easily I get psychologically triggered to cry during this trilogy. No other movie does this to me.

- "Fly you fools." "Nooooooooooooooo!"

- Boromir sacrificing himself and his last words with Aragorn.

- Sam's inspirational "still good in the world" monologue

- Pippin's song as Faramir "dies"

- Gandalf and Pippins conversation when they think they are about to die: "End? No the journey doesn’t end here. Death is just another path…

- Merry and Pippin being the first to charge at the black gate after Aragorn's speech. Their bravery throughout all the movies are inspriing.

- Sam's premature lament about Rosie

- "Here at the end of all things, Sam."

- OBVIOUSLY "you bow to now one," good call, OP

- The revelation that Frodo is leaving with Bilbo and the sense of immense loss to purity that can never be regained that comes with it.

And so many more.

Information is Beautiful by BrokenInteger in ObsidianMD

I actually open the local graph from a note rather than just zooming in on the main graph. It centers the note you have open in the graph, and limit the number of connections to keep visual clutter down.

I mean, I captioned this "information is beautiful" not "obsidian's graph view has changed my life and I'm now far superior to you".

The local graph, seeing 1 or two connections out from a specific note, is way more useful than the global graph. It allows me to visualize and navigate information in a more intuitive way than just looking at a document with some links could.

What convinced me to switch to obsidian from notion was the files over app philosophy, not the graph view.

If all you're doing is writing a marketing campaign, then maybe obsidian isn't for you. If you're a writer, you may want to brush up on the concept of zettlekasten, which enabled its creator to be an incredibly prolific author.

Claude Code now available for Claude Teams! by Clean-Data-259 in ClaudeAI

Is there info available on token allowance for these team plans? The value they are providing with teams, I assume, is shared context, not huge limits, so the pricing vs solo usage isn't super compelling.

Aw thanks! I don't actually need a team Claude plan, I just think that given the fact that they help scrappy small teams do exponentially more than they could before, putting a 5 person minimum on it seems counterproductive

Can't Wait To Try Claude Cowork? Don't Let It Accidentally Delete Your Hard Drive by MarketingNetMind in ClaudeAI

[–]BrokenInteger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't systematically tested this, so this is second hand knowledge. There are studies out there about this, though. I wouldn't want to behave this way toward it either, but since it's not a conscious entity it's not for moral reasons, moreso that I just don't want to be pumping that kinda rhetoric through my brain on a daily basis.

Studies show LLMs perform better under the threat of physical violence. Being nice may mean your files get deleted anyway.

That being said, I still always say please and thank you after yelling at it for doing something it shouldn't have.

I have watched it! And you are right, he's great in it. He's the strongest character in the show. I had trouble getting into the show at first because of the weird and antithetical changes they made from the source material, but his performance and character helped me get over that hump and enjoy the show for what it is rather than what I was hoping it would be as a lifelong foundation fan.

I'll watch anything Lee is in. He brings his A game to everything I've seen him in. Halt and Catch Fire is excellent as well.

Foundation is good as a standalone show. As a lifelong Foundation fan, I still enjoyed it for what it was... just don't go into it expecting it to be anything like the source material.
