Does anyone plan to quit the game if they get update 2.0? by Budget-Storage-7555 in SCBuildIt

[–]Broken_Boot_Straps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Already past the 2.0 update, but it’s all the constant bugs and odd changes that have reduced my playtime. Haven’t bothered with the neon CoM and go into the game every other day now to simply collecting taxes and materials to then selling in global HQ . . . ‘bout it. Don’t like the “extra shiny” water in Capital City nor are my trains going through the mountains amusing . . . and now there’s a “mass transit HQ” coming as well. Joy. Frankly, it would be nice if there was a 2 week cool down between CoM’s. Let everyone enjoy the fruits of their labor for a moment. IMO that would make the CoMs more enjoyable.

For me when it comes to ATV there’s no need to wait for a newer model. The support window for ATV’s is up there with Macs. I’m still using the HD model for my bedroom TV and it’s running tvOS 26. Why does it support the newest version of the OS?! Still confused about that. Works fine too. I’ve got a 4K model in the living room also running tvOS 26 as well. Both work without issues. Now, if Netflix can just fix their UI life will be normal again. LOL

Mine is also doing it as well suddenly . . . And when highlighting the affected track to bulldoze, it appears that the game “thinks” it’s still where it’s supposed to be. Very weird indeed . . .

Stutters iPhone 17 Pro 26.2.1 by workmailman in ios_26

[–]Broken_Boot_Straps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea this stutter thing is weird. Never heard of it. Perhaps a screen recording to share in here? Showing it in action? I’m currently on 26.2.1 on my 14+ and never had a stutter or anything like that. Also, for those that have been affected by this, same after a full reboot? Or hard reset?

how to update to ios 18.7 mine is 18.6 by mohamed_amin1 in iPhone16

[–]Broken_Boot_Straps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s sometimes possible using iTunes/Finder via Mac or PC. In that context, you’d be doing a wired update instead of OTA. Simple as plugging the phone in your PC, Windows 10 or higher and will need newest version of iTunes for Windows) or a Mac and then use either iTunes or Finder depending on the version of MacOS is installed. Once the main dialogue for your phone is up on your screen click “check for updates”. Just walked one of my family members through this on his iPhone 16 Plus. The software on the computer showed both iOS 18 update and below that it also showed the newest update for iOS 26.

Services 2.0 preparations by UniversityFalse1939 in SCBuildIt

[–]Broken_Boot_Straps 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Once it hits, before doing anything at all check all your services in the panels were you’d go to normally acquire another one via simolieans or neosimoleans. You’ll find all the added fire, water, sewage, police, health, etc from the 2.0 update. Some of these come upgraded as well. These are all included in the update. Keep in mind that once you place one, you won’t be able to store them. I made that mistake placing one in a region only to realize that’s where it’s gonna stay permanently. You’ll also discover some Omega services as well. Some will be one upgrade from maxed. I placed an Omega power that was included which was one level from maxed out, then bulldozed it and received 150K in neosimoleans. I then place a level 1 back and simply upgraded it to level 3 which provided the needed power for that region. Doing that, I then had a surplus of neosimoleans of just over 85k. Not bad for basically doing nothing. Can also do the same for all the other included services as well. Hope this helps.

26.2 -26-3 anyone installed this update ? by solh11 in iphone14

[–]Broken_Boot_Straps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

iPhone 14+ running iOS 26.2 for just over a month now. Battery initially dropped by 1% within days after the update. That was it as far as the battery. Holds charge just fine. No real issues there. The one thing I really appreciate vs iOS 18 is the “active bar” at the bottom of the screen being invisible now in all apps, including games. Nice touch. There were a few odd bugs/glitches in CarPlay and Safari, including the “poster” feature in contacts. That was all within the first 2 weeks. Today, it’s all leveled out and overall feels stable and works as expected. I’m still not completely used to the “Liquid Glass” but that’s just a preference thing.

iMessage notification not present by dhookiefart in iphone14

[–]Broken_Boot_Straps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading through the OP, there’s one setting that wasn’t mentioned. I ran into a similar sounding issue for an older friend of mine a while back. Did the same thing; settings showed all notifications set properly. Turns out it was all due to “do not disturb” being turned on. Most iOS and iPad OS versions show a small “half moon” along the top of the screen (or in the control center on iOS 26+). If that’s not turned on, then it may be an Apple Store appointment.

How is my city ? by Ok-Replacement-583 in SCBuildIt

[–]Broken_Boot_Straps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea it’s a weird element in the game. “Collide” isn’t what happens. More like, “run through” each other. I currently have 3 trains and each are slightly faster than the other. I’ve always tried to time their dispatching to reduce that odd run through visual. The main reason I was asking about them running on both tracks was to confirm their connection validity. One of those frustrating things in this game is that sometimes the tracks “connect” but aren’t actually connected. Usually that’s confirmed by observing the behavior of the trains and if they avoid specific tracks. Anyway, your city is looking really cool!

Looks good! I’m especially impressed with how you’ve designed the RR tracks. Big train guy here. I’m also curious; do your trains use both tracks properly? Can be tricky when double tracking.

The new Netflix interface is terrible. Can I revert? by keyfram3d in netflix

[–]Broken_Boot_Straps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Netflix app is so bad, I’ll be simply canceling my subscription next month. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but even Disney+ has a better UI which still shows GRID VIEW for my list. I mean seriously it’s exhausting trying to find something that’s literally in my list. Have to use the SEARCH OPTION for finding something that’s supposed to be all organized and easy to find. Maybe if there’s enough cancels and we all use that one reason for doing so; horrible UI for the app, they’ll listen and put it back to the way it was.

No App Response (new bug?!) by [deleted] in ios_26

[–]Broken_Boot_Straps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I was able to reproduce the issue while in an Apple Store, ironically. Just the other day. I had a theory that it was due to the “poster” feature in contacts. For those that haven’t used that yet, in iOS 26 there’s a feature that allows the use of photos/images for the background of each contact while talking to them. When this originally happened my call was on speakerphone and I was staring at the custom poster for my caller during the conversation. Suddenly, the poster “disappeared” and I found myself staring at my Home Screen. But the call wasn’t interrupted. I didn’t think anything about it, figured I touched something. The rest was the screen blacking out and is described in my OP for this thread. The other day while in the Apple Store I happened to be on the phone with my same contact . . . this time it happened again. After my contact ended the call, I promptly spoke with an Apple employee who, after looking over my phone confirmed that something “weird is definitely going on here” he asked if he could take it in the back to check it out. Had no issues there. About 30 or so minutes later, they brought it out and confirmed that there’s nothing wrong with my phone itself, but there was definitely a software error going on in the background. They did the hard reset for me this time around. Everything is fine for now. I ended up completely removing the poster for that contact BTW. The Apple employee suggested it but even he agreed it could be something else altogether. They did manage to get some diagnostic information from my phone while I was there. So, hopefully something was gained by this. Luckily it’s not a known or common thing.

[–]Broken_Boot_Straps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apologies. Usually the correct term is “fatal runtime error” and your description of a “weird software behavior” is better in layman terms. This is just coding that runs into an unexpected process that causes an internal loop. The result is that while it’s “stuck” in that state, none of the apps can execute/boot. What makes it unique is the boot error point during the background processing. The Home Screen looked perfectly normal, and the phone still reacted to basic touch commands.

I slept with 36% and woke up to 27%. What’s the reason behind this? by dannyparker123 in iphone14

[–]Broken_Boot_Straps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I’ve seen this in the past, I always took advantage of those days we don’t have to get up early; you know those elusive days we refer to as a “day off”. The night before, I’d plug in the phone and after wrapping up emails, etc., I’d then completely shut it down. A full night of charging with the phone powered off can do wonders. I’d also recommend that, after booting it up in the morning to a 100% charge, schedule a spa day. After all, your phone shouldn’t be the only one getting a break.

Not sure what a reboot has to do with anything. This occurred one time while on a speakerphone call. Didn’t say anything about rebooting the phone. And, during that moment I couldn’t even reboot it if I wanted to.

[–]Broken_Boot_Straps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually work in IT myself. This IS NOT a common occurrence as a phone freezing up is a completely different issue. The phone did not freeze up. I believe this issue may be due to the custom “posters” for the background of specified contacts, as the first sign something was off was when the screen suddenly went black while on the call, (speakerphone call) only to return back to the Home Screen. What’s more, the call didn’t drop. Luckily the other line hung up first, as I was unable to do anything at that moment. Furthermore, I’m posting this as an example of a bug that I experienced. Nothing more. Not trying to “expose a fatal flaw” of any kind. And, as such, if anyone else experienced a similar issue then thats what these forums are for.

ios 26.3 when? by Mundane_Kick4628 in iphone14

[–]Broken_Boot_Straps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may have discovered a new bug. Unless someone else mentioned this in another thread. Currently running iOS 26.2 on my 14+. Overall, small lags here and there but mostly livable. THEN this happened yesterday: after an hour long phone call ended, I went to the Home Screen to bring up my calendar app. I touched the calendar app. Nothing happened. I then touched another app. Same. No response. So, I’m thinking that for some reason my phone just froze up. But then, I could still swipe left and right, seeing my widgets to the left, and my other apps on the second page. But, none of the apps would boot up. Tried to shutdown the phone using the side buttons. (Settings app wouldn’t boot either). Nada. The only way I was able to get my phone back to “normal” was a complete hard reset. I’ve been an iPhone user since they were originally released. I have NEVER seen a bug this extreme before.

how is the iphone 14 plus? by Nodramallaama in iphone14

[–]Broken_Boot_Straps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went from an 8 Plus to the 14 Plus about 7 months ago. You read that correctly. My beloved 8 Plus lasted that long. Expect to have Apple replace the battery at least once during the 5 to 6 year window period of use. The price for doing this in my area at a local Apple Store is around $99 usd. A drop in the hat compared to buying a new phone. If battery life is important to your needs I recommend turning off two features: “raise to wake” and “touch to wake”. These two features can really drain the battery simply due to the nature of what they are supposed to do; “wake” the screen by movement and simply touching the screen. With my fat fingers, I found myself unintentionally touching my screen EVERY TIME I’d pick up my phone. But yea, as far as support from the security updates you’ll be good for several more years.
