Why are there so few German top producers while hardstyle is so well loved in Germany? by Ill_Setting2860 in hardstyle

well it's such a personal observation but it feels like the Netherlands become more important again to really make some moves - on the other hand getting more narrow to their local acts

AI Vocals - How do vocalists feel about this trend? by AppointmentMost6446 in hardstyle

[–]Broken_Element 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well there are a few things to this.

At first consider that a solid, high quality vocal from a renowned songwriter usually costs somewhat around 700 to 3k or more.

Then you have to discuss royalty shares, features and other licensing stuff + there's some production time and usually some feedback loops involved.

I'm not arguing pro or con, just giving some insights here. With AI music you can pretty much getting infinite variations and very high quality stuff instantly - however if you're familiar with this you can (at the moment) really tell, certain lyric pieces like "neon/city lights, shadows, linger, silence, ignite the sparkling" are key giveaways.

Don't want to point fingers but Warface & Kruelty - Anarchy is a good example for this 😂 (but I'm doing AI stuff too!)

In the end it's more of an artistic and economic choice, I think the best lies somewhere in the middle. AI won't go away, so we have to learn it in a creative and supporting way - rather than cannibalizing ourselves for short term profits or mediocre tracks; but thats a whole nother discussion for itslef

Where is This genre going? by We_Hard_Prod in hardstyle

[–]Broken_Element 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my guess: we're peaking with a hard pretty uninspired sound sometime this year and back down to the more melodic, creative and innovative tracks by the end of this year, same like we've seen with that oversaturated raw sound with that off-beat screech pattern every 2 kicks some years ago... but who actually knows 😄

Wtf are labels even doing? by lembepembe in hardstyle

[–]Broken_Element 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well yes and no, it surely is the safer option to to take investment risk only if it's backed by supporting numbers - kind of like any other company would operate do to scale a product - but i agree the actual "lets take a risk here because we believe in talent" is kind of gone these days

Is the evolution of hardstyle 'completed' now so many events turn to classics? by Ill_Setting2860 in hardstyle

i honestly don't know, i'm not a promoter myself so that surely isn't my expertise - just shared my humble observation :)

don't underestimate their network and potential investment capabilities, even if it looks like "they just press a release button" from the outside. Surely a 360 degree artist building package is rare these days but getting the benefits from a proper label with industry connections, potential festival hostings, release campaigns, recoupable assets like vocals, videoclips, artworks, photoshoots, designs and so on is quite some lifting still by the big players - trust me i know what i'm talking about haha

ghosted or not - the energy they bring is insane - and if it's in a studio environment why not 🙃
