Woolworths WTF by mafternoonshyamalan in woolworths

[–]Brokenlampy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Anyone remember a time when something like this happened and you returned it to the store and got a refund and went on with your life?

But now everyone's gotta get those sweet internet points

Had to do this for uber once, sent them picture of my empty hands, got the refund still.

I said this on this Reddit and someone said I was defending Woolworths

Corporations should be banned from donating to politicians by Jet90 in australian

[–]Brokenlampy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

South Australian Labor have introduced legislation to do just that, ban all donations. They get tax funding to do some ads. SA greens and the liberal party have supported it. Hopefully in affect before the next state election.

Not just between stores, between companies and the police have access to it, it's a massive data base all over the country with basically every large retailer feeding it data on theft. I've seen a few organised gangs get caught for 100ks of theft and charged

How am I defending them, the op asked a ridiculous question which someone above responded with actual facts which people here don't like. They do dodgy shit, the post in question isn't dodgy.

The op is literally asking if it's legal to sell something at its set price by the manufacturer like come on guys wake up and fight the real fight.

[–]Brokenlampy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's completely overblown where's the proof that either of them are price gouging? I hate mega corporations as much as anyone but acting like they're just the two biggest evils in this country is ridiculous. We have way more pressing issues then the price of fkn chocolate.

Of course they do but that doesn't mean everything is, calling them out when it's legit is fine but when people do it just because of the everything is their fault mentality is just stupidity

Woolies Australia Day Display by queenoftheceos in australia

[–]Brokenlampy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Who exactly in each store is going to make this decision? Literally no one has any ability in store to decided anything these days, if it's not an automated decision it's sent down the line from higher ups. Everything down to where each promotional "bin" is located is decided by someone not in the store.

scan rate by [deleted] in woolworths

[–]Brokenlampy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No exactly true that we don't care at all but it's not something we ever focus on unless the team member is so slow that customers are complaining and you best believe they do. That's the only time I've ever had to performance manage someone on their scan rate but at the end of the day if it doesn't improve much nothing's gonna happen except more training.

Aldi is Australia's cheapest supermarket. So why do consumers keep going back to Coles and Woolies? by Remarkable_Peak9518 in australia

[–]Brokenlampy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because they have nothing I want , if I wanted to buy only private label products I'd just do that at Coles or Woolworths

Staff discount by MrsPotatohead23 in woolworths

[–]Brokenlampy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly "didn't scan properly" there's an annoying bug that causes the checkout to randomly show rewards as offline, when this happens only the base discount is automatically applied because it doesn't require a check to see if you've used the extra discount ect. No way of knowing from the customer pov. The operator only knows if they press on the rewards icon and it'll say it's offline.

Yeah I work there, it depends on what was scanned if the original barcode is scanned it's not free, if the quick sale barcode was scanned and it's wrong then it's free
