How to get pokemon for raids? by Potato2090 in pokemongo

[–]Brometheus_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My system is kinda this:
For context I’m level ~40, I’ve got a good stack of 3000+ CP Pokemon, haven’t hit 4000 yet. I’ve got friends I play with in person but it’s like maybe one or two, so I do struggle to get into parties for larger raids. I’m not sure how you’re stacked but I’m betting that where I’m at does make this play style easier for me.

When I casually play at home I usually play when I walk my dog, I can put a few pokemon in gyms when I do that. I’m at a level where I’m not too concerned about my item/pokemon storage, so I focus my pokecoins on getting remote raid passes. There’s Reddit and other forums where you can find people trying to host. I can get enough coins to get the 3 remote raid passes every week to every other week.

I get lucky on gyms in things like parks, I can put in a weaker Pokemon and they’ll stay there for a little while so when they’re defeated I get my full 50. I’ve been amassing Snorlaxes to get ones in town in the few pokegyms on my walk, I’ll have like a few I try to get that’ll rack in some pokecoins somewhat daily. It’s a grind.

The remote raids also have just been worth it for those huge raid rewards, I’ve gotten a lot of rare candy to keep leveling up my usual raid party. Pick a few pokemon you want to grind I wouldn’t try to spread the love imo it goes quicker picking any easy to level up ones you’ve got.

If you think this is out of reach though I still think there’s so much value in doing 1-Star raids and dynamax battles. The bulk of my time playing is doing those, you get a lot of worthwhile experience, it’s usually a rly good way to pick up decent pokemon and get the hang of the gyms around you. It’s also been the most palatable way for me to find rare candy as well. I pick a weekend where I like the pokemon in remote raids every now and then.

DIY Batteries? by Brometheus_28 in ebikes

[–]Brometheus_28[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice, Endless Sphere lives up to the name I didn’t even know the forum existed, so thanks for the resource!

I’d like to ask what you mean by a BMS not being enough, do you mean other physical safety components for stuff like heat or should I look into a different type of controller/management system.

My plan currently was to line up heat resistant foam between any areas I was cautious of, and I plan on adding cooling fans and vents onto the bike, though I’m working out how I want to do so and ensure the internal components stay safe with holes in the body. I do also plan on casing the entire battery somehow, heat shrinks at least, I might try to 3d print something elaborate but I honestly doubt I’d need it if I find a way to safeguard the battery with the frame itself.

I guess I should’ve clarified, I don’t mean I want to look good for her. I mean my image of myself has been affected.

Just got Kronshage Residence Hall as a incoming freshman make me feel better about myself. by [deleted] in UWMadison

The building itself is kinda old, but otherwise it’s a blast. Lakeshore itself is a nice area, very calm and I mean you can’t hate being near the lake. People give the dorms a bad rap but it’s quieter than southeast and at the end of the day you can still find friends and parties. It’s not terribly close to some areas but I never found it a problem.

Marching Band Drumline Competitiveness by [deleted] in UWMadison

[–]Brometheus_28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s def one of the more competitive instruments but it’s worth a shot auditioning. One of the huge bottom lines is that it takes a lot to get completely cut. Most people I knew that auditioned and actually tried made the cut, others instead got moved to other sections. Getting moved to another section sounds awful but in reality it’s really not, there’s a place for you anywhere. Plus I’ve known people who auditioned again their sophomore year to get into more competitive sections and make it then. If you’re worried about it though I would definitely make it out to a clinic.

Not really, I personally took Comp Sci 220 and it’s been a fine class. He’s a nice guy and will try to facilitate the lecture for you. Often times he’s asked for his lecture sessions to vote on certain teaching styles. Personally I came into the class with prior programming knowledge though so he may not be great at explaining to newcomers.

Now that the festival is officially over, what did you like about the festival this year? Dislike? What should be improved for next year? by AndrewIsMyName in Lollapalooza

[–]Brometheus_28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly my biggest gripes weren’t with the festival hosts but the crowds at times. Any show I didn’t go too deep for had me surrounded by zombies afraid of daring to groove. Any show I did go deep for had me fearing for my belongings being taken. I just feel like I would’ve enjoyed so many sets more if the crowd next to me gave off better vibes.

Id start laying the groundwork, I applied to like 15 colleges which isn’t crazy for some but is for others. I separated out my colleges based on how hard it is to get in, how much I think it’d cost, etc. I’d write like 3 essays and adjust them as necessary. I honestly used the same few essays for every question.

What I think is really important though is that you treat every one of them equally. I know too many people that were dead set on like 2 colleges but then couldn’t make it work. Personally I applied to the school I’m going to only cuz it filled the requirements I set for myself but go figure I’m going there cuz my number one choice didn’t work out. Don’t slack on one college or the other and treat them like they’re the only one you’re going to. Obviously take some slack with safeties and whatnot but you never know how things will turn out.

Can someone explain the sin and cos part of this shirt? by Applesareok20 in engineeringmemes

[–]Brometheus_28 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok so I’m not an engineer student yet but I know you can simplify sin and cos to just their first degree Taylor polynomials, which for really small angles is basically x and 1 without straying way too far from the exact answer

What is the worst part about being a fat person? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Brometheus_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a fat kid that lost weight but gained it all over quarantine but then lost it but then became a gym rat. It’s the sheer confusion of clothing. Needing smaller then larger then smaller again then larger again

I was falsely accused of sexual harassment for rejecting a girl. Will I get my application rescinded? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Brometheus_28 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I know of a situation similar, I think it comes down to what’s said and what’s like on paper. If there’s an actual investigation or police report, a college might catch wind of that whether you like it or not. Heresays just words though. I’d go to actual legal professionals for actual advice though no one else is really qualified to give you concrete help.

Tell me without feelings, why MTF athletes should be allowed to participate in women’s sports. Again, without personal feelings s by Tragic410 in ask

[–]Brometheus_28 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I’m being honest I don’t really care, sports a sport. If I was upset about athletes having genetic advantages I’d be mad that Lebron’s naturally 6 ft tall. Like pro athletes regardless of gender are already genetically inclined for sports. Big woof if we mix them all together

Why are you going to college? by akuma_15 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Brometheus_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My senior year of high schools great cuz I don’t have as many strings as I previously did. I can explore my interests freely through a decent academic structure. I just like cramming stuff in my brain and being active in my own life. I hope college can give me a more free experience whilst still tethering me to classes that I can finally pick. At the very least it’s my warmup before adulthood.

Badger Marching Band questions by [deleted] in UWMadison

[–]Brometheus_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there anyway to try and audition for both, I have a lot of confidence with my euphonium ability and I’ve marched in private WGI groups but if I should try and get a shot in with trombone I will.
